Board Advisor for Marketing & Communications
 

The Marketing & Communications department is currently undergoing a process of further professionalization. The focus is on strengthening governance, decision-making, planning and control, collaboration, and results-oriented management. To support this development, we are seeking an experienced Executive Advisor who will serve as a strategic sparring partner for the director and the management team.

As a Management Advisor, you serve as the link between strategy, implementation, and management. You support the director and the management team in achieving organizational objectives, strengthening the management structure, and improving organizational performance. In doing so, you bring structure, clarity, and coherence to a complex environment with diverse interests and stakeholders.
 

Strategic Consulting and Management Team Support

  • Serve as a strategic advisor and trusted partner to the director and the management team.
  • Preparing, facilitating, and following up on management team meetings, decision-making processes, and strategic sessions.
  • Monitor progress, decisions, and action items, and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Identifying risks, dependencies, and governance issues, and providing advice on them.
  • Translating strategic developments into concrete decision-making, actions, and improvement initiatives.
  • Supporting the management team in strengthening governance, leadership, and collaboration.

Planning & Control

  • Coordinate the business plan process, quarterly business reviews (QBRs), and other components of the planning and control cycle.
  • Ensure alignment between strategy, objectives, KPIs, projects, and financial frameworks.
  • Analyzing performance, identifying deviations, and recommending necessary adjustments.
  • Preparing management information, executive reports, and strategic analyses.

Financial Management

  • Coordinate budgets, forecasts, and financial reports in collaboration with Finance.
  • Translating financial insights into management recommendations and courses of action.
  • Supporting decision-making regarding investments, capacity issues, and prioritization.
  • Monitoring budgets and managing financial risks.

Governance and Organizational Development

  • Strengthening governance, decision-making structures, and the division of responsibilities within the department.
  • Optimizing consultation structures and improving the quality of decision-making.
  • Analyzing, designing, and improving critical business and management processes.
  • Initiating and facilitating improvement initiatives focused on collaboration, leadership, and organizational development.
  • Actively contribute to the continued professionalization of Marketing & Communications.

Knowledge and experience

  • WO working and thinking level.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience as an executive advisor, program manager, chief of staff, or in a comparable strategic advisory role.
  • Demonstrable experience within large, complex organizations.
  • Extensive experience in governance, planning and control, and organizational development.
  • Experience with financial management, business planning, and management reporting.
  • Proven experience in translating data, analyses, and financial information into management decisions.
