Location: Candidate works 2 days a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, at the Duiven office

The energy transition is impossible without you as a Business Analyst on the Qirion Change Team
The transition to a sustainable and reliable energy supply presents significant challenges. This calls for smarter ways of working and new solutions. That is why Alliander has change teams within its operational departments that work with the business to make these necessary changes possible. These change teams are part of the Qirion, Large-Scale Consumption, Major Work Packages, Small-Scale Consumption, Maintenance & Outages, and Strategic Resource Management chains. Many of the change projects in these teams relate to automation and digitization. That is why the change teams work in an agile manner. Within Qirion as well, the teams work as agilely as possible within the project-based context. Such a team consists of a Product Owner, a Business Analyst, a Scrum Master, and several Developers. The teams are part of the High-Voltage Chain Agile Release Train (ART HS chain).

Due to the maternity leave of our current Business Analyst, you will temporarily be part of two Scrum teams for this assignment.

One team focuses on initiatives related to efficiency in our project process. It is working on , a centralized platform that brings together project information, processes, and decision-making in a single integrated environment. The team is working toward digital design and development, ensuring that users always have the right information to increase quality and productivity. This allows the input, output, and status of activities in the process to be tracked in (near) real-time for optimal project management.
The other team focuses on data. It is working on initiatives related to building and maintaining Snowflake Data Products and developing and maintaining products for internal and external data exchange. It is also working on the implementation of the Common Information Model (CIM) so that we can exchange information according to global standards rather than system-specific configurations. This enables systems and parties to understand each other more quickly. Maintaining a number of existing systems and phasing them out when they reach end of life is also part of this team’s responsibilities. One of the newer initiatives is the design and development of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) knowledge base.
You are in constant consultation with the business to translate business issues into manageable epics and features, so that the development team can quickly and continuously deliver added value to the organization.

The two teams (and the other teams in the ART HS chain) are highly motivated to work with their colleagues to implement the best possible systems.
In this role, you will be specifically responsible for:

  • Gain and provide insight into complex operational processes and maintain an overview for the benefit of the team(s) and the ART;
  • Analyzing processes at various levels and from different perspectives (stakeholders, users, previous analyses, other applications in our landscape or that of our supply chain partners) based on business analysis, data analysis, and information analysis;
  • Establishing a link between Qirion’s strategic and tactical interests and those of its customers, and operational needs;
  • Based on current systems and the future landscape, translate needs into requirements and minimum viable products (in collaboration with the product owner, key users, and business owners). This also means refining the product backlog by developing user stories and use cases that address technical (and functional) requirements;
  • Documenting requirements, manuals, and process- and application-related information;
  • Implementing the solutions.

You’ll help make it even more dynamic
Digitizing the energy transition. You’ll do this by leveraging your own strengths and talents. And you’ll do it with us. Will you contribute to this with your desire to improve and accelerate progress? Great! Especially if you also bring:

  • at least a completed associate's degree and a work and thinking level equivalent to a bachelor's or master's degree;
  • several years (at least 3) of experience as a (business) analyst in a complex and challenging environment;
  • experience with data analysis and information analysis;
  • preferably experience in the energy sector;
  • knowledge of and experience with agile working;
  • curiosity, enthusiasm, and strong social and communication skills;
  • can quickly process, organize, and disseminate large amounts of information.
