About our organization
Liander is the electricity network operator in North Holland, Flevoland, Friesland, Gelderland, and Rijnland. We are working on a future-proof energy system that supports the energy transition, construction projects, and economic development in the Netherlands. As a high-voltage environmental manager, you play a crucial role in this transition. With your social persuasiveness and knowledge of environmental management, you make our living environment more sustainable and contribute to the largest renovation project in the Netherlands.

About our team
You will be working in the Spatial Integration Team within Customer + Design (K&O), which develops solutions for complex high-voltage projects. Together, we ensure the optimal spatial integration of our projects, with a focus on sustainability and the balance between people, nature, and technology. In your role, you will have the opportunity to independently build stakeholder relationships and contribute your ideas.

About your role
As a high-voltage environment manager, you will work with the grid architect, relationship manager, project manager, and communications advisor to determine the effects of grid expansions or modifications to our electricity network. You will contribute ideas about possibilities, manage research teams, and regularly coordinate plans with government agencies, nature conservation organizations, landowners, and local residents.

Your location
You will work from our location in Arnhem, focusing on the Rivierenland region.

Your impact
As an environmental manager, you play an essential role in realizing successful projects. You are responsible for ensuring that environmental plans, permits, and land for our infrastructure, such as cable routes and power stations, are made available on time. You are constantly working to professionalize the field and address important issues such as the impact of electromagnetic fields and noise on the environment.

Your efforts ensure that the community understands the necessity of projects and is willing to cooperate. You contribute directly to the timely realization of a future-proof energy system for everyone.
What you will be doing:
As Environment Manager High Voltage East - Rivierenland, you will be responsible for:
  • Stakeholder Management: You provide a structured approach to stakeholder management internally and externally by identifying, analyzing and actively involving stakeholders in the project, policy or decision.
  • Feasibility studies: You will supervise and assess (spatial) feasibility studies to ensure that projects are realistic. In Rivierenland, you will contribute to a large, complex feasibility study into several new stations, together with TenneT.
  • Shaping the process: You shape the process of spatial decisions and land acquisition.
  • Representation: You will represent Liander during information meetings and ensure clear communication with stakeholders.
  • Spatial integration: You will take the lead in the spatial integration of our electricity stations, ensuring that they blend in well with their surroundings.

What you bring to the table:
With us, you will work in an organization where you can utilize your own strengths and talents. As an environmental manager, you will play a key role in balancing technical requirements and environmental concerns. You will put things in the right perspective, look beyond your own field of expertise, and know how to convince others. You are confident and represent Liander's interests without losing sight of the interests of others.

Do you contribute with your structured approach and intrinsic motivation to connect people? We would love to see that! Especially if you complement this with:
  • A bachelor's degree, for example in urban planning, geography, law, or public administration.
  • At least 5 years of relevant and demonstrable work experience as an RO employee, environmental manager, lawyer, or environmental law consultant.
  • Interest in Rivierenland
  • Interest in spatial procedures for infrastructure projects.
  • Interest in legal aspects of land matters.
  • Interest in energy infrastructure.
  • The emphasis in this role is on the preliminary stages of the permit process. The candidate should have experience in spatial planning rather than in permits or cable laying.
