Senior Strategy Consultant

Work location: Monday fixed office day in Arnhem, rest remote possible
Max rate: € 135, - per hour

Become a Senior Strategy Consultant at Alliander and help with the energy transition! With your strategic insight and vision you will contribute to the necessary changes. You will do this as Senior Strategy Consultant in the Change Team of Maintenance & Faults (O&S), where you will also fulfill the role of Improvement Portfolio Owner for the Maintenance Chain. This is a position for 32 to 40 hours. You will make the grid more reliable at Alliander.

As a Senior Strategy Consultant, you will be responsible for connecting Alliander's strategic milestones to epics and in collaboration with the Change Team Product Manager and Business Owners, translate these into O&S epics for the Business ART roadmap. In this role, you bring in the long term vision (2 years and beyond). In doing so, you also ensure that the work that needs to be done to achieve the milestones relevant to the realization of the OGSM of O&S is invested in the right place in the organization. Within the Change Team, you organize and facilitate the Portfolio Discovery Team (PDT).

As an important link you work closely with various other organizational units such as Corporate Strategy, Innovation Hub, Digitization ARTs, Research Center for Digital Technologies, Asset & Product Management (APM), and Safety, Environment & Quality.
For O&S you explore with (internal) partners on innovation and you are responsible for inspiring innovative solutions in the Change Team and with Business Owners (MT O&S).

As a Senior Strategy Consultant , you will be engaged in:

•  Understanding and directing the changes required from a long-term perspective (2< years) to achieve the strategic milestones of the Maintenance & Breakdown organizational component.
• Develop various scenarios and solution directions for future milestones including exploring innovation for O&S and inspiring Change Teams, Business Owners (MT O&S) and implementation;
• Bringing your stakeholders into your long-term perspectives: you act as their strategic business partner, advising, convincing and easily switching between scenarios
• Prioritize portfolio epics so that ARTs can align their own roadmaps with them and ensure alignment with change projects within the other organizational units;

By extension, you also play an important role in the Chain Conservation as Improvement Portfolio Owner.
The Maintenance Chain has satisfied customers and high delivery reliability. This performance, combined with high customer satisfaction, secures the license-to-operate. In recent years, therefore, the chain has focused primarily on getting the basics right and optimizing operations.
At the same time, the world around us is changing. In the context of the chain, we see developments that may eventually impact various facets of our chain, such as delivery reliability and customer satisfaction but also employee welfare and efficiency. Consider climate change, geopolitical tensions, and the increasing pressure on capacity; both in the grid and in manpower.
Therefore, the perspective of the chain is shifting. In addition to continuing to secure excellent operations, the Sustainment chain plan focuses on strategic forward thinking. And you in this role for the chain are concerned with:

• Progress monitoring of all initiatives that will achieve chain initiative milestones
• Fully understand plan and initiatives content (not just portfolio boards), and substantive assessment of initiative template, planning
• Delegated approval business cases
• Responsible for acceptance by business owner of offered solution to requirements
• Drive chain initiative owners, Activate stakeholders, facilitate decision-making
• Conflict and escalations resolution
• Initiative (chain) backlog owner

• several years (7+) of proven success at the strategic level within large chain complexity
• Demonstrated experience as an Epic Owner or Product Manager within a large complex organization;
• Sector knowledge of the energy market (required), solid strategic consulting skills, change management, and affinity for digitalization;
• thinking in solutions in multiple modes of work, analytical and problem-solving skills and a proactive, innovative but also handson attitude;
• Connective and communicatively strong in complex environment
• Pre: knowledge of Agile (SAFe, Lean, Kanban) and are Lean Portfolio Management certified.

  The change team of Maintenance & Faults consists of committed and honest colleagues. You are part of the core team (MT) of the Change Team O&S. Within the core team, as Senior Strategy Consultant you work closely with the Product Manager of the Business ART of the Change Team, the RTE and with the Change Team Manager. In addition, two Department Leaders are also part of the core team.
