Your role within Data Office:As a Data Architect at Alliander Data Office, you play a key role in shaping our decentralized architecture, which centers on data products. Your role is to bridge the gap between IT and business operations.
You also facilitate collaboration between different organizational units and ensure alignment between various data initiatives and perspectives within Alliander. In this role, you are therefore not only an architect but also a connector in realizing our vision of using data to accelerate the energy transition.
Your responsibilities:
- Guiding change and facilitating decision-making: thetransition to a data-driven approach requires a new way of working and a cultural shift. You are the driving force behind this change, together with your stakeholders. Your leadership ensures that decisions are made constructively and, as a result, enjoy broad support.
- Designing data architecture:As a data architect, you are responsible for designing the data architecture that supports the energy transition. You ensure that data on energy consumption, grid management, and renewable energy sources is organized in an efficient and accessible manner. This helps ensure that solutions are delivered in a timely manner that fit within an affordable and reliable energy system.
- Data modeling: Youvisualize data flows and describe the relationships between different organizational units and data sources. As a Data Architect, you play a crucial role in explaining the models and communicating modeling standards to the teams, so they can apply them in their work and add value. This promotes collaboration between teams and ensures the effective delivery of data products, with the goal of making informed decisions that accelerate the development and sustainability of the Netherlands.
- Developing Data Governance:You will establish the rules for data governance that support our decentralized data architecture. This contributes to a consistent and reliable data landscape, which is essential for a stable and sustainable energy grid.

Education and Experience:
- Higher vocational education (HBO+) or university level: youpossess the intellectual and professional capabilitiesneeded to tackle complex challenges and devise innovative solutions.
- Experience in coaching and facilitating change: youeffortlessly guide organizations through change and inspire teams at all levels.
- In-depth knowledge of data governance, management, and architecture:you are a true expert in designing and managing data ecosystems. You have experience with methodologies such as TOGAF, DAMA-DMBOK, and ArchiMate, and use them to develop and manage cutting-edge data architectures within the dynamic world of energy distribution and management.
- Experienced in complex IT environments: Youhave a solid foundation in computer science or data science and have demonstrated your skills in complex IT environments, preferably within the energy sector.
- Relevant and demonstrable work experience: Youhave experience in various architectural disciplines, such as solution, data, or enterprise architecture, where you have taken responsibility for initiatives or programs.
