Senior Data Engineer
Job description:
For the Data Program, we are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer with expertise in Snowflake and Matillion. Additionally, experience with dimensional modeling and Microsoft Power BI is a plus. The role involves working on data integration and dimensional modeling. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will work closely with teams to build and maintain advanced data solutions, leveraging your extensive knowledge of ETL processes and experience with Snowflake and Matillion. In doing so, you will bring both an advisory role and a pragmatic approach to work with the teams you support toward delivery within tight timelines.

The context of the data program is an Alliander-wide transition to Data Mesh and working with data products. At the same time, the migration of the data platform to the new target architecture using Snowflake and Power BI is also underway.

Responsibilities:

• Developing and maintaining data integrations in Matillion and Snowflake
• Implementation and optimization of ETL processes.
• Dimensional modeling 
• Coaching the team on professional development
• Collaborate with other IT teams and reporting teams to migrate data solutions to the new target architecture

Prerequisites:

• At least 7 years of experience as a Data Engineer.
• Experience with both Snowflake and Matillion (both required).
• Experience with Microsoft Power BI.
• Good Dutch language skills.
• The ability to work independently, but also to collaborate effectively within a team.
• Experience in setting up or maintaining architecture. (Preferred)
