As a grid operator, Alliander plays a vital role in society. ICT ensures that Alliander, now and in the future, has stable technical (ICT) systems and well-organized work processes. In cooperation with our fellow grid managers Stedin and Enexis, we will work in the coming years to realize the NextGen Generic Head-End; the new generation smart home meter that will become the standard within households in the Netherlands. For Alliander this is an important future asset in the control but also the reading of the data going over this network.
The collaboration is done in a larger program in which several teams focus on the development of the new generation smart meter, including a team developing the subscription register and a team working on device management. Your challenge is to work in a team consisting of various experts from the three grid operators to help develop a working solution.

Your added value as a Developer?
As a Developer, you are invaluable to our team. In this phase, there is still a lot of design work to do but also started writing and debugging code to deliver the right value. You will be responsible for ensuring high code quality by following best practices, running unit tests and developing automated tests. In addition, you are committed to improving performance and stability by identifying and resolving technical issues and bugs in the software. In your team, you work together to advance other aspects, such as UX and security. Finally, you see the importance of technical documentation of the solution as a deliverable to deliver your work from the right quality aspect.

As a Developer you have affinity with development activities but you are also aware of the management impact and take the initiative proactively. You have the ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop effective solutions. You are a team player and you are excellent at maneuvering in a collaborative environment. You can work in a structured way and have good communication skills to internal and external organizations.
What else makes you our new Developer?

- You have hbo working and thinking level.
- You have professional experience with Java, having worked with Spring, Spring Boot, JMS, Hibernate, Kafka, SQL and Web services (SOAP/REST)
- Experience with CI/CD, unit testing and test automation. We work with the following tools: Maven, Tomcat, Jenkins, GitHub, JUnit, Cucumber, Selenium, mirrormaker, Sonarqube, Jira, Docker, Elastic Search, AWS and Kubernetes(EKS).
- Experience with front-end software development is a plus, having gained knowledge of Angular javaScript, JQuery, HTML5, and CSS3.
- You have knowledge of networking and experience with Active Directory
- You have some knowledge of databases, for example PostgreSQL and KSQL.
- You have experience with identity & access tooling such as KeyCloak.
- You have experience with Agile and Scrum working methods.
- You speak excellent Dutch and English.
- You feel comfortable working with your team to contribute to the new generation of smart meters.
