Senior Citrix NetScaler/ADC Engineer

Location: Tuesdays and Fridays (Amsterdam Basisweg and Haarlem)
Screening: The candidate must undergo screening before starting. This screening takes at least 3–4 weeks and affects the start date. The candidate cannot and is not permitted to start until the screening has been successfully completed.

The assignment

At Alliander, you’ll work on migrating the existing Citrix NetScaler environment to a secure, modern, and future-proof Citrix ADC environment. You’ll collaborate with colleagues in architecture, networking, security, and operations.

You deal with:

• Reviewing and improving high-level and low-level designs;
• Translating technical, security, and management requirements into solutions;
• Building and configuring Citrix SDX platforms and VPX instances;
• Installing, securing, and managing Citrix ADC;
• Configuring high availability, load balancing, content switching, SSL/TLS, authentication, and reverse proxy;
• PKI management, certificates, monitoring, and logging;
• Inventory and migration of existing services, flows, and dependencies;
• Developing migration plans, run sheets, validation steps, and rollback scenarios;
• Testing, troubleshooting, and documenting the new environment;
• Transferring knowledge to operations and management.

This is what you bring

• HBO-level work and thinking skills or comparable experience;
• Extensive experience with Citrix NetScaler/ADC, SDX, and VPX;
• Experience with enterprise migrations and lifecycle replacements;
• Knowledge of load balancing, content switching, SSL/TLS, TCP/IP, DNS, routing, high availability, and PKI;
• Experience with hardening, troubleshooting, documentation, and knowledge transfer;
• An independent, practical, and collaborative work ethic.

Experience with Ansible, Infrastructure as Code, scripting, APIs, automation, Citrix certifications, or critical infrastructure is a plus. You don’t have to meet all the requirements; relevant experience and the ability to make a meaningful contribution are what matter most.

• A tested migration plan with rollback scenarios;
