The energy transition is impossible without you as an Innovator
You’ll work with Alliander to build the energy grid of the future—the biggest challenge ever! As an Innovator, you’ll work within an innovation ecosystem made up of multidisciplinary innovation teams, where professionals from various disciplines collaborate on initiatives and solutions. As an Innovator, you’ll help conceive, develop, and test innovations in collaboration with market partners, research institutions, customers, and Alliander colleagues. Together with your team, you’ll ensure that the innovations Alliander needs to realize its strategy are developed. We’re building the energy grid of the future for everyone, with everyone. And as an Innovator, you’ll be part of this effort.

Your responsibilities will include, among other things:
  • You identify the most important and riskiest assumptions and determine which ones should be examined first.
  • You design and carry out experiments, prototypes, and pilot projects with clear learning objectives and measurement criteria.
  • You analyze qualitative and quantitative results and translate them into concrete recommendations: continue, adjust, scale up, or stop.
And here's what you'll bring to the table:
  • You have proven experience in researching and developing innovations, products, services, or value propositions.
  • You can break down complex issues into clear research questions, assumptions, and feasible experiments.
  • You combine curiosity with decisiveness: you ask critical questions, actively seek evidence, and turn insights into action
  • Experience with or an interest in complex, asset-intensive, or socially relevant sectors—such as energy, infrastructure, mobility, telecommunications, or manufacturing—is a plus
  • An interest in energy infrastructure (such as district heating networks or renewable gases) is a plus.
