Learning & Development Consultant

As a Learning & Development Consultant (LDC), you ensure that our colleagues can grow in their profession and are ready for tomorrow’s challenges. Together with the Learning & Development Business Partner (LDBP) and our Developers, you build a strong learning portfolio that contributes to Alliander’s strategy. You make learning smarter, more future-oriented, and more impactful.
In this role, you support the LDBP in implementing effective learning solutions. You ensure that plans don’t end up in a drawer but are actually implemented, embedded, and continuously improved. You work primarily in a tactical and operational capacity and collaborate closely with developers, portfolio management, and colleagues across the organization.
You advise organizational units on onboarding and learning solutions, build a high-quality learning portfolio, and use data to support decision-making. Individual learning advice is not part of this role; you focus on organization-wide impact.

Your key responsibilities
Management & compliance

  • Manage mandatory training courses in systems such as Archipel and Certwell.
  • Maintain training matrices and dashboards.
  • Monitor compliance and follow up on actions taken by organizational units.
  • Ensuring data quality in the context of certifications.
Developing educational materials
  • Developing learning tracks and other learning solutions.
  • Translate learning needs into formats, tools, and learning paths.
  • Contributions to the L&D product catalog.
Stakeholder Management & Support
  • Serve as the point of contact for learning and development.
  • Collaborating with LDBP, HR, and portfolio management.
  • Agreeing on priorities and the schedule for learning activities.
Process Improvement & Structure
  • Identify bottlenecks in processes, roles, and systems.
  • Improving L&D processes such as portfolio management and governance.
  • Ensure the quality of leather products and ensure a smooth handover.
Data & Insights
  • Analyzing learning data and translating it into improvement actions.
  • Reports to support management and stakeholders.
Themes & Projects
You manage one or more themes, such as:
  • Compliance & Mandatory Training
  • Learning tracks or toolkits for target groups

You just make it more energetic
You’ll help drive Alliander forward with your pragmatic approach and enthusiasm. In addition, you’ll bring:
  • At least 5+ years of experience in a similar L&D role.
  • A degree in educational design, educational science, or a related field (is required)
  • Experience in a tactical-operational L&D role
  • Experience with LMSs and compliance training.
  • Experience in creating learning journeys using external resources.
  • Experience with process optimization.
  • Experience in the technical sector.
  • Experience in a tactical-operational L&D role.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills; you can easily navigate between different levels.
  • Experience with AI, data, and reporting.
  • A structured approach to work, a clear overview, and the ability to prioritize.
  • Hands-on approach: you make sure things actually get done.
Alliander consists of several companies, including Liander, Qirion, Qterra, Dep, Firan, and Entrnce. Together, we build and manage the energy grid for millions of people in the Netherlands. The energy transition requires expertise, innovation, and collaboration—and you’ll help our people grow in these areas.
You’ll work within the Learning & Development department, where we set up training programs for various organizational units. You’ll work in a hybrid model: regularly in Arnhem, sometimes in Duiven, and occasionally at locations such as Amsterdam, Apeldoorn, or Leeuwarden. Working from home is also an option.
