Project Control Consultant / Junior Manager

Are you an analytical and collaborative professional with experience in project management? Do you want to make an impact on the energy transition and successfully oversee complex projects? If so, we’re looking for you to join our IPM team as a Project Management Consultant. With your experience, you know how to maintain a big-picture perspective and identify potential risks. This is a 32–40-hour-per-week position. You’ll help make things more organized at Alliander.

The energy transition is impossible without you as a Project Management Consultant

As a Project Control Advisor, you are responsible for advising on and coordinating all control aspects within our projects: budget, risks, scheduling, information, organization, and quality (GROTIK). You’ll work closely with the Project Control Manager, Project Manager, Technical Manager, and Site Manager. In addition, you’ll serve as the primary point of contact for our contractor regarding project control.
You’ll ensure that everything runs smoothly and that deadlines are met. You’ll be the linchpin of the team, providing oversight, structure, and reliable management information. You’ll do this as part of an IPM team. We collaborate with the contractor in a Construction Team for each project.
You’ll work at our office in Amsterdam, at the contractor’s site(s) near Grootenbroek, and from home. You’ll be on-site at least 3 days a week.

We’re building the energy grid of the future for everyone, together with everyone. And as a project management consultant, you’ll be part of this effort. In this role, you’ll be working on:

  • Analyzing and monitoring financial data to ensure that projects remain within budget.
  • Monitoring the schedule, ensuring that milestones are achieved, and ensuring the availability of capacity and resources.
  • Supporting, facilitating, and implementing risk management to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Preparing progress and accountability reports
  • Ensuring quality and compliance with agreements, guidelines, and laws and regulations
  • Collaborating with various departments to ensure the quality of our projects.

You complete the grid at Alliander

Did you know that at Alliander we are made up of several companies? Together with Liander, Qirion, Qterra, Dep, Firan and Entrnce, we develop and manage the energy network for millions of residents in the Netherlands. And with the current energy transition, that's hard work. We do this with the help of a large club of professionals. Thanks to these talents, we have full confidence in the energy future of the Netherlands. Together with you, we will make it possible.

And you’ll be doing that at our Liander business unit, within the Medium-Voltage Implementation Chain. This chain is home to many passionate technicians who are eager to contribute to society. You’ll work on the Helix program team, collaborating with the technical manager, environmental manager, project manager, and contract manager.

A mindset where only the best is good enough is only possible if you have enough energy. And the right work environment gives you that. The Helix program is made up of dedicated and honest colleagues—a dynamic team committed to a sustainable future. You encourage each other to do your best work, and you also provide support and honest feedback when needed.

You just make it more energetic

Building an organization that’s ready for the future. You do that by drawing on your own strengths and talents. And you do that with us. Will you contribute to this with your unique perspectives? Let’s do it! And will you also bring the following to the table:

  • A higher vocational education (HBO+) level of work and thinking.
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience in project management, preferably in the energy, infrastructure, or construction sector;
  • Knowledge of the integrated project management model (IPM).
  • Strong analytical skills, organizational awareness, and persuasiveness
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude
  • You are independent, organized, and enjoy working in multidisciplinary teams
