Low-Power Equipment Technician 
Location: Amsterdam Westpoort or Alkmaar area

Service Technician (Meter Cabinet) 

Help customers by installing smart meters and preparing meter cabinets for the future—both in private homes and at business locations. You’ll upgrade and maintain the meter cabinets. You’ll do this as a Meter Cabinet Service Technician at Liander in the Amsterdam region. This is a position for 32–40 hours per week. Start date: October 1, 2027! You’ll help make the grid smarter at Alliander. 

The energy transition is impossible without you as a meter cabinet service technician 

You’ll independently perform maintenance and repairs on our customers’ meter cabinets. This ensures that these meter cabinets remain safe and in good condition. You’ll also disconnect and reconnect low-consumption gas and electricity meters. We’re building the energy grid of the future for everyone, together with everyone. And as a meter cabinet service technician, you’ll be part of this effort. Your responsibilities will include: 

• Independent installation and replacement of smart meters for small-scale consumers  

• Performing an average of 6 service jobs per day. Upgrading circuit breakers and/or fuses. 

• Making a diagnosis and independently carrying out the appropriate corrective actions.  

• Provide customer-focused service and advice on the optimal use of equipment.  

• Entering work reports, customer feedback, and technical data into the appropriate systems.

Performing assembly and installation work in the electrical or gas fields. You’ll do this by drawing on your own strengths and talents. And you’ll do it with us. Can you contribute to this with your customer-focused mindset? Great! Especially if you can also bring the following: 

• Knowledge and experience with BEI VP meter cabinets and VIAG VP meter cabinets 

• BEI-VP Electrical and VIAG-VOP Gas Certificates 

• A valid Class B driver's license 

Based on your expertise and experience, you possess a high level of professional competence and can immediately contribute to the KV field service team.
