Your technical expertise and interpersonal skills will make all the difference. For the Leeuwarden region, you’ll play a key role in shaping the energy transition. You know how to engage stakeholders in new infrastructure projects. And your own growth opportunities? We wholeheartedly support them. This is a hybrid position for 32–40 hours per week. You’ll help make the grid more sustainable at Alliander.

The energy transition is impossible without you as an Environmental Manager
You serve as the central point of contact for all stakeholders. Throughout all project phases, you understand what matters most to them. You strike a balance with the project’s interests and act as a mediator between the project and its surrounding community. As a community relations manager, you are ultimately responsible for managing all aspects of community relations. You spend two days a week on-site with colleagues and the contractor. The rest of the week, you work from home or are on the go attending meetings and appointments.
We’re building the energy grid of the future for everyone, together with everyone. And as a junior environmental manager, you’ll be part of this effort. In this role, you’ll be working on
  • coordinate all relevant environmental aspects. You will do this in collaboration with the contractor. 
  • analyzing and identifying the spatial integration of projects. 
  • contribute to the preparation of stakeholder analyses, permit inventories, and communication plans. 
  • organizing information sessions and other communications about the project.

Managing and designing our electricity or gas grid. You’ll do this by drawing on your own strengths and talents. And you’ll do it with us. Can you contribute to this with your structured approach? Great! Especially if you can also bring:   
  • at least a bachelor's degree. 
  • At least 3 years of experience managing complex processes involving many external parties. 
  • Experience with a network operator
  • experience with permit applications.
  • knowledge of the legal aspects of environmental management and environmental law (such as the Environmental Act, environmental law, or nature conservation legislation). 
  • experience with energy infrastructure. 
  • Availability: 32–40 hours per week.
  • Customer focus comes naturally to you. You understand that everything we do ultimately impacts our customers, and you act accordingly.
