Ensuring a stable platform around management information, quality and safety to optimally support everyone within Alliander. Safety, environment and quality are important themes within Alliander and we believe that digital products can help us further in this.  

Do you get excited about having your own team with responsibility for a number of products? Do you have images on safety topics like incident management and observation rounds? Do you have sound on how we can digitize risk management and audits? Do you have experience with complex stakeholder management with senior management? Then this position is perfect for you! 

The position is a temporary assignment to replace maternity leave, from December 1, 2025 to early/mid-June 2026 for 28 hours per week.

As Product Owner within the Safety, Environment and Quality department, you will be responsible for the Alliander Management System (ABS) team in the tool Zenya, Certwell for safety training and ServiceNow IRM for Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC), among others. 

As a product owner, this makes you responsible for three SaaS tools: 

• In Zenya, you ensure that processes regarding safety, environment and quality are recorded, managed and improved in conjunction. Related fields such as privacy are also included in Zenya. 

• Certwell ensures proper recording of safety training and instructions and, as demonstrability, is crucial to the employability of our technical personnel. 

• In ServiceNow IRM, you ensure that all processes regarding risk management & compliance and related fields such as security are secured. 

Challenges for the coming period are: 

• Transition of Risk & Compliance themes from Zenya to Servicenow IRM. 

• Investigate the need to add a fourth product so that we know who is working on our jobs. A tender is possible in this regard. 

• Recruit and induct 2 new colleagues as functional administrators. 

• You will focus in Certwell on improving and realizing integrations between Certwell and other systems and automation of manual processes. This in collaboration with the Solution Architect, the vendor and teams outside VMK. 

As Product Owner, you will be working on: 

• Retrieve requirements from the business (stakeholder management) and translate them into a prioritized backlog. Stakeholders are not only within the VMK department, but also Internal Audit, CISO, Risk Management & Compliance are buyers/users of ABS. In addition, almost all of Alliander is a customer of the product. Stakeholders at the N-2 level are the norm, not the exception especially in the areas of safety incident management and quality control. This makes stakeholder management within this function complex. 

• Creating support among a large group of users from director to field technicians, taking into account various complex interests, dependencies and potential resistance;  

• Devise and execute the right implementation strategy; enthuse and inspire the development team and stakeholders. You do this together with process owners for all the different processes that land in the apps; 

• Spider in the web and be able to translate between stakeholders and consultants/managers, maximizing value to the business; 

• Ensuring an up-to-date product vision and roadmap, based on stakeholder wishes, developments, opportunities and risks with an eye for new techniques; 

• Provide functional direction to teams by working out epics, features and stories; 

• Prepare and execute sprint planning and reviews; 

• Ensuring the quality of solutions provided (DoD); 

• Be able to think strategically with visionary innovation that will deliver long-term value; 

• Liaise and direct external vendor(s), with improvement initiatives, new feature requests and bug reports; 

• Contract management and thereby budget management, including for new features

• At least 5 years of relevant work experience

• Relevant training or certifications for POs, e.g., PSPO. 

• Experience in a complex environment with many types and quantities of stakeholders;

• Knowledge of IT systems in area of focus and affinity for IT development;

• Knowledge of implementation processes is a plus;

• Conceptual and strategic understanding: both internal and external
