Lead / Product Owner Market Strategy & Innovation

The Strategic Exploration department focuses on providing insight into the impact of customer and market developments on our networks and translating this into strategy, action plans, and the necessary smart solutions. The Market Strategy & Innovation team contributes to this by experimenting with solutions and validating what is valuable for Liander. This can be done in small projects on a one-to-one basis with the customer, but also in large programs in collaboration with industry organizations, authorities, and other network operators.
The Market Strategy & Innovation team—consisting of project managers and consultants—quickly switches between client, policy, technology, legal matters, and, of course, operations to make solutions a reality. This starts with determining a strategy and translates into the implementation of a solution, which usually runs smoothly, always encounters bumps and dilemmas, but does have a longer lead time. At the same time, there are moments when everything accelerates and quick thinking is essential. In addition, there are always new developments or ad hoc strategic questions that need to be addressed quickly in a project or program. All in all, it is a dynamic environment in which you, as a leader, must know how to strike a balance between providing frameworks and leaving room to lead the team to the best results.
To achieve this, you, as a leader, set the direction for the team. You develop a clear vision and ensure that goals, priorities, and results are clear. You focus on both content and impact: from vision to implementation. Together with your team members, you translate insights from the market into strategic choices that make a difference and are valuable to Liander.

You do this by:
  • Functionally managing a multidisciplinary team of Project Managers and Consultants. In other words, you are responsible for results.
  • Establishing a clear vision, goals, and priorities for the Market Strategy & Innovation team.
  • Focus on results – so that initiatives, experiments, and research lead to concrete strategic insights and impact.
  • Connecting with stakeholders in a complex stakeholder field, where you are able to connect both internal and external interests with each other.
In addition to your managerial role within your team, you are an active member of the Leadership Team of the Strategic Exploration department. You look beyond your own role and take responsibility for further developing the department and establishing connections between your team and others in the department. This includes topics such as team development, creating team spirit, establishing culture and behavior, and initiating and implementing department-wide improvement initiatives.
Everything we do, we do with an eye for the people who count on us: our customers. And thanks to our talents, we have every confidence in the energy future of the Netherlands. Together with you, we are making the energy transition possible, for and with our customers.

You make it more energetic
Working on an organization that is future-proof. You do this using your own strengths and talents. And you do this with us. Can you contribute to this with your flexibility in a changing environment? And can you supplement this with:
  • At least a completed higher professional education or university degree, supplemented by an affinity for the energy transition.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Lead/Product Owner, or similar role supplemented with work experience as a program manager, preferably in an environment with strategy or innovation issues.
  • Experience in the energy sector, preferably in a role with a network operator where you have gained knowledge of the energy system.
  • Strategic thinking; you see the big picture, know how the market is developing, and can give direction to vision and priorities.
  • Strong focus on results; you set clear goals and ensure that ideas lead to concrete impact.
  • Experience with both project-based and agile working; you know how to provide structure in broad terms, but also leave room for your team members to run their own projects.
  • Experience with a complex stakeholder field; you know how to connect, persuade, and bring together different perspectives.
This role requires an experienced senior professional who recognizes themselves in all of the above job criteria and who knows how to make an impact in a complex energy world.
