SAP Application Consultant FI-CA

Alliander context
The Netherlands is working toward a future in which energy will be fully sustainable by 2050. Alliander, together with its partners, plays an important role in this by facilitating the energy transition.
Alliander committed to digitalization early on to facilitate the energy transition, with teams that develop, implement, and manage digital solutions. These include apps for field technicians and municipalities, as well as advanced algorithms for investment optimization and for preventing bottlenecks in the power grid. However, for part of our information provision, we are still reliant on outdated systems with complex interfaces and data that is difficult to access. That is why we will be replacing and upgrading our core IT systems over the next five years.

Fit4Future: Program Flow
Alliander has launched an initiative called Fit4Future to prepare its IT infrastructure for the future. Fit4Future consists of several separate, complementary programs and projects.

One of these programs is Flow, under which projects are being carried out to replace and phase out SAP IS-U.

Invoice-to-Cash (I2C) Project
Alliander uses SAP IS-U for processes such as customer management, connection management, consumption management, billing, and market and service processes. Because these systems are nearing the end of their lifecycle, these processes must be redesigned based on the future target architecture, including SAP S/4HANA and other target applications.

An essential component of SAP IS-U is Billing & Collections (SAP FI-CA). This supports the financial processes required to bill customers accurately and on time and to collect payments efficiently and in a controlled manner.

The current landscape, which consists of classic ABAP, interfaces, and workflows within SAP IS-U, is not aligned with the future architecture. That is why Alliander is working according to the Clean Core principles, so that the landscape remains more maintainable, future-proof, and easier to upgrade.
The I2C Project follows the “Fit-to-Standard” principle: processes and solutions are designed as much as possible using standard SAP functionality. This minimizes the need for customization and ensures optimal use of new technologies.

Job Profile
As an SAP FI-CA Application Consultant (3 positions) on the I2C project, you will be responsible for analyzing, designing, configuring, and implementing the future Invoicing and Collections processes within SAP S/4HANA FI-CA. You will serve as the link between business, architecture, process design, and implementation.
You translate business requirements into standard SAP solutions according to the "Fit-to-Standard" principle and work in accordance with Alliander’s Clean Core guidelines. In doing so, you focus on maximizing the use of standard SAP functionality and minimizing custom development.
You will work closely with SAP BTP developers, SAP Build Process Automation consultants, solution architects, integration specialists, testers, and product owners to build a future-proof application landscape. The consultant is responsible for the FI-CA processes, configuration, process design, and business acceptance.

Responsibilities

  • Translating business requirements into functional designs and standard SAP solutions.
  • Setting up processes related to Accounts Receivable Management, Invoicing, Payments, Direct Debit, Reminders, Collections, Disputes, Write-offs, Refunds, and Payment Arrangements

  • Aligning workflow and process automation requirements with SAP Build Process Automation Consultants.
  • Provide support for integration issues between SAP FI-CA, SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, and partner systems.
  • Developing functional specifications for interfaces, APIs, events, workflows, and authorizations.
  • Preparing and Performing Unit Tests
  • Provide support for SIT, UAT, and production verification.
  • Ensure documentation, knowledge transfer, and support for the management organization.
  • Actively participate in multiple multidisciplinary Scrum teams.

You have strong communication skills in both Dutch and English. You are a team player but are also able to take independent responsibility for your work.
