Job Opening: SAP Technical Solution Lead
As an SAP Technical Solution Lead, you will play a key role in the IT landscape of the future. Alliander aims to establish a future-proof digital and data foundation. This requires up-to-date, flexible, efficient, and robust systems as the basis for the necessary business transformations and optimization of business processes. This is a 32- to 40-hour-per-week position based in Arnhem. You’ll help make the grid more innovative at Alliander.

For the SAP management team (technical maintenance of the SAP ECC and S4 landscape), we are looking for a new colleague with extensive technical knowledge who can contribute to the management of high-quality SAP systems. This team works primarily from Arnhem, and occasionally from Haarlem. The SAP management team consists of 6 experienced employees and works according to the Agile Way of Work within Alliander, applying the Scrum framework with its associated rituals. There is a focus on quality and the management of critical business processes. Crucial to this is coordination between business, product teams, architects, and DevOps teams regarding technical choices, dependencies, and roadmap impact.

And as an SAP Technical Solution Lead, you’ll be part of this effort. Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing an SAP IT roadmap, overseeing and evaluating solution designs for S/4HANA, integrations, and extensions, including weighing standard SAP best practices against necessary deviations
• Ensure that solutions withinSAP S/4HANAadhere to Clean Core principles (no custom ABAP in the core, extensions viaSAP BTP) and align with the established application architecture.
• Responsible for the functional and technical configuration ofSAP Cloud ALMfor project delivery, monitoring, feature-based transports, change management, and lifecycle management
• In addition, you will serve as the primary point of contact for SAP Cloud ALM. You will set up the platform, continue to develop it, and establish integrations with Jira, ensuring that teams have full visibility into requirements and changes.
• Helping to define the test strategy, quality gates, and defect management within Cloud ALM, in conjunction with sprints and releases.
• You will oversee technical quality, coordinate incident resolution with SAP ECS RISE, and ensure that we are always prepared for changes.

• A college or university level of education and thinking, preferably in IT or business administration.
• At least 5 years of relevant SAP IT experience, preferably in complex enterprise environments.
• In-depth knowledge of SAP S/4HANA and SAP Cloud ALM.
• Able to evaluate solution designs and oversee SAP solutions (S/4, integrations, extensions).
• Good knowledge of Dutch (B1 level).
• Experience with Agile/Scrum and DevOps is a plus.
• Takes proactive steps to drive improvement and takes ownership of these efforts
• Strong communication skills: able to convey results and decisions to stakeholders directly, tactfully, and without beating around the bush
