For Alliander Telecom, we are seeking a Senior Scrum Master/Team Coach for the team responsible for the fiber-optic network. You will work in a technical environment with many external dependencies and frequently changing priorities.

We’re not looking for a typical Scrum Master who focuses primarily on additional processes, tools, or rituals. We’re looking for someone who truly helps teams in their day-to-day work: someone who brings calm, structure, and focus, connects well with engineers, and provides personalized guidance to team members.

What will you do?

  • You will support the Fiber Optics Team and the various work packages in their collaborative efforts and help create greater control, clarity, and structure.
  • You guide the team in their work processes in a way that aligns with the realities of the job.
  • You coach team members, taking into account their varying levels of experience and need for guidance.
  • You will support the Feature Owners in the teams as they develop, organize, and plan their work.
  • You help the team make the work concrete, clear, and actionable.
  • You bring structure to existing meetings and work arrangements and help teams stay focused.
  • You encourage a sense of ownership within the team and help lighten the Product Owner's load when necessary.
  • You help teams effectively manage dependencies, disruptions, and schedule changes.

What do you bring?

  • Extensive experience as a senior Scrum Master, team coach, or in a similar role.
  • Experience in managing technical teams.
  • A pragmatic, calm, and decisive style.
  • Strong coaching skills and the ability to build trust within technical teams.
  • The ability to ensure that the approach aligns well with the realities of long-term development.
  • You aren't dogmatic and have a good sense of what a team needs at any given moment.
  • You must be in the office at least one day a week.

About the area

Alliander Telecom designs, implements, and manages telecommunications services that enable the remote control of Alliander’s energy grids. The organization employs approximately 70 FTEs, about half of whom work in three product teams. You will serve as the Scrum Master for one of those teams.
