Alliander:
The Netherlands runs on energy. And by 2050, it will run entirely on renewable energy. It’s up to the network companies and all our partners to help make this energy transition possible.
Alliander committed to digitalization early on to facilitate the energy transition, with teams that develop, implement, and manage digital solutions. These include apps for field technicians and municipalities, as well as advanced algorithms for investment optimization and preventing bottlenecks in the power grid. However, for part of our information provision, we are still dependent on outdated systems with complex interfaces and data that is difficult to access.
Fit4Future Asset program:
As part of Fit4FutureAsset, Alliander is modernizing a significant portion of its IT landscape for asset management and field service management. The challenge here lies not only in the individual systems, but primarily in the interplay between processes, systems, data, and day-to-day operations.
A key component of this is the Scheduling & Planning capability: the integrated planning and scheduling of work activities, capacity, and employees within the operational chain. This capability is supported by IFS, in conjunction with other applications, integrations, and data sources within the Alliander landscape.
Several more releases will be implemented in the coming period. At the same time, throughout 2027, we will be working toward a gradual transition from the program to the permanent organization.
Job Description:
As a Senior Business Consultant for Scheduling & Planning at Alliander, you serve as the link between business and IT and ensure that changes within Scheduling & Planning are implemented in a way that is truly workable. You have a deep understanding of business processes and needs, identify impacts and dependencies, and translate these into concrete requirements and feasible solutions. In doing so, you look beyond the functional requirement alone. You maintain an overview of the interconnections between processes, IFS, data, integrations, testing, users, change impact, and organizational constraints.
You are not just a consultant or analyst; drawing on your expertise, you also take the lead in execution and implementation. You actively gather missing information, introduce structure where it is lacking, and ensure that dependencies, risks, and roadblocks are identified and addressed.
Responsibilities:
- Business & Process Analysis: You analyze end-to-end business processes and business needs and translate them into concrete solution approaches and necessary changes to processes, systems, and work methods.
- Requirements:You translate needs into clear requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria that stakeholders can use to get started.
- Impact Analysis:You provide insight into the impact that changes have on processes, users, IFS, data, integrations, and surrounding systems.
- Execution & Implementation:You ensure the coherence among the activities still needed to successfully and effectively implement solutions.
- Business & IT Readiness: You identify what is needed to ensure that both the business and IT are ready for upcoming releases, define readiness criteria, and monitor the necessary follow-up actions.
- Change & Adoption: You clarify what changes mean for users, processes, roles, and work methods, and ensure that the necessary change and adoption activities are incorporated into the implementation.
- Testing & Acceptance: You will work closely with the testing team and the business and provide support for functional testing, end-to-end testing, and user acceptance testing.
- Risks & Dependencies: You identify bottlenecks and dependencies and promptly organize the necessary coordination and follow-up.
- Go-Live & Hypercare: After going live, you’ll monitor the system’s usability in the operational environment and translate relevant findings and lessons learned into concrete improvements.
- Leadership: When work gets stuck between teams or ownership isn't clear enough, you bring the right people together and coordinate progress and decision-making.
- Transition:You will help ensure that knowledge, processes, procedures, and responsibilities are increasingly embedded within the existing organization throughout 2027.
Critical Success Factors:
- You independently bring structure to complex and changing situations;
- You don't wait for information; you actively seek it out;
- You quickly identify dependencies between business, processes, systems, and teams;
- You combine strong analytical skills with decisiveness and the ability to get things done;
- You can keep track of things when multiple releases and priorities are happening at the same time;
- You are a strong discussion partner for both business and IT;
- You mobilize people when work or decision-making comes to a standstill;
- You know how to translate complex changes into concrete steps needed to make them workable for the organization;
- You feel responsible for the overall result, not just for your own workload;
- You are pragmatic and results-oriented without losing sight of quality and risks.
Job Requirements:
- HBO or WO level of work and thinking
- At least 8 years of relevant experience as a Business Consultant, Implementation Consultant, or in a comparable senior role.
- Proven experience with multiple full implementation cycles within a complex enterprise environment, from requirements and design through go-live and hypercare (mandatory requirement!!!).

- Extensive experience with end-to-end business and process analysis, requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Proven experience with business readiness, UAT, implementation, and adoption in a business-critical environment.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience, including several years in a senior role within complex implementation or transformation environments.
