The Preparation Team is looking for a Senior Full-Stack Developer 

Your work as a Senior Full-Stack Developer is accelerating the energy transition in the Netherlands. 

Alliander faces the major challenge of the energy transition and the implementation of the climate agreement. This requires significant investments in our energy grid. Thanks to smart technology, we are increasingly able to respond effectively to changing supply and demand. We must develop solutions that allow us to handle even greater workloads while continuing to guarantee the quality and safety of our grid. As a Senior Full Stacker in the Large-Scale Consumption Reconstructions & Grids (GVR&N) department, you’ll play a key and hands-on role in developing and executing projects that contribute to Alliander’s strategic goals and improve planning. This is a position for 32 to 40 hours per week. We operate on a hybrid model, allowing you to work from Arnhem/Duiven or online. You’ll help make Alliander’s grid more professional.

As a senior full-stack developer, you’ll also be responsible for building, monitoring, and managing the applications you’re working on. You’ll be able to brainstorm with an IT Solution Architect about the IT landscape while effectively communicating with users about the applications and their features. You’ll know how to convey the big picture to the team and understand what it takes to achieve our goals. And as a full-stack developer, you’ll contribute to these efforts. For example, you’ll also be working on:

As GV/R&N, we’re working to optimize our production processes. As a result, we’re building a single, centralized new GV/R&N application. For all project phases, we aim to provide end users with functionalities as centrally as possible. This will result, among other things, in an application where we’ll offer tasks centrally, along with a number of project-phase-specific systems. We have a community of development teams, all of whom are working together to meet this challenge. In this effort, we place a high priority on collaboration, quality, and knowledge sharing. 

We use Domain-Driven Design to implement a microservices architecture, with services connected via Kafka and REST. Our UI consists of an NX monorepo where multiple teams and processes collaborate. We strive to use modern techniques to tackle our challenges and to follow coding conventions that result in high-quality applications. With your knowledge and experience, you’ll make a significant contribution to improving the quality and speed of our back-end development. You’ll also serve as a key sounding board for back-end issues within your team and the community. In addition, you’ll be able to assist with front-end development as needed.

• HBO/WO degree; 

• At least 6 years of experience in back-end development in enterprise environments; 

• At least 3 years of experience with Node.js in combination with Nest.js; 

• Knowledge of and experience with (testing) tools (Jest, Cypress, Playwright); 

• Knowledge of and experience with Nx/monorepos; 

• Knowledge of and experience with event-driven architecture 

• Knowledge of and experience with modern front-end frameworks (Vue.js, React, Angular) 

• Knowledge of CI/CD, preferably with GitHub Actions; 

• Experience working in a Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe environment; 

• Experience with Kafka and cloud system administration (AWS, Kubernetes) is a plus; 

• Experience with Angular is a plus. 

• Experience with Hexagonal Architecture is a plus.
