Senior Java DevOps Engineer
Are you a DevOps engineer with extensive experience in Java platforms and container techniques, who wants to contribute to the energy transition? Do you want to contribute to creating a sustainable future within a team that focuses on efficiency and automation? If so, Alliander's role as DevOps engineer within the System team (IT4OT) offers the perfect challenge for you. It's you who make things more innovative at Alliander.

The energy transition is impossible without you as a DevOps engineer.
As a DevOps engineer, you will work in an Agile/SAFe system team on the development of a container-based CI/CD street within the OT landscape (the critical infrastructure) and you will work on the generic software building blocks for data integration and the MeasurePoint Registry (MPR), for example.
The MPR registers all measurements carried out by the OT Hub within the Alliander landscape. The measuring point and the measurement are registered by means of a unique identifier The MPR, together with NRG, forms the 'telephone book' to be able to find Measured values.
Based on this platform and building blocks, users can develop, test and execute software safely, quickly, efficiently and in a controlled manner. In short, the OT landscape is laying the foundation for Alliander to realise the energy transition quickly and safely.
We are creating the energy grid of the future for everyone, with everyone, and as a DevOps engineer you will be part of it. For example, you are working on:

Liaising with other DevOps teams and engaging with users:

- keeping the CI/CD infrastructure operational for the critical infrastructure;
- the generic IT building blocks for OT value chains;
- the integration stack;
- the further development of the Measurement Points Register (MPR).

You just make it more energetic
Working on an organization that is future-proof. You do that from your own strength and talent and you do that with us. With your energy, you will excel as a full stack Java developer. You are best described as curious, inquisitive and analytical.
With your experience, you know exactly how to tackle complex IT challenges. You will closely follow the latest developments in the field of technologies and tools.
Will you contribute to this with your innovative solutions? Terrific! Especially if you supplement this with:

- Experience with Java platforms and Linux;
- Experience with Docker Container/Kubernetes;
- experience with frameworks and tooling such as GitLab, JUnit, REST, Jira;
- Experience with ElasticSearch;
- experience with GitLab, Tekton, Maven, SonarQube and Quay;
- experience with ArgoCD for continuous delivery and GitOps;
- experience with the open-source relational database management system PostgreSQL;
- Experience with Python is a plus;
- Experience with Agile/Scrum is a plus.
Your strengths include 'communicative skills', 'no 8 to 5 mentality', 'responsibility', 'cooperation', 'team player' and certainly a dose of humour. You thrive in a small, informal organization where there is a lot of room to discover, learn and take initiative.
