Project Manager for the Construction of High-Voltage Substations in the Amsterdam and 't Gooi Region
In the coming years, Alliander will need to build and expand dozens of new and existing substations. This is a major challenge, and we need talented people who are willing to devote their full energy to this effort. At Alliander, we’re doing this through our company, Qirion.
As a Construction Project Manager in Amsterdam and 't Gooi, you’ll work on challenging, technically complex high-voltage projects where you can demonstrate your added value in the field of civil engineering.
New high-voltage substations are essential to the success of the Energy Transition: you ensure that outdoor work proceeds safely and in a controlled manner. As a Construction Project Manager at Qirion (32 hours or more per week), you’ll oversee project execution within your assigned area. You’ll be based at our Amsterdam office, but you’ll spend most of your time working on-site alongside contractors and colleagues to build a reliable and future-proof energy grid. You’ll help make the grid more reliable at Alliander.

The energy transition is impossible without you as a construction manager for high-voltage substations
As a project manager, you will work on the construction of new high-voltage substations in your region. You will be closely involved in the execution of the work and will spend a lot of time on-site. In this role, you will ensure that work is carried out safely, in a controlled manner, and in accordance with agreements. You are at the heart of the energy transition. You literally create the conditions to make this possible. You work closely with contractors and colleagues within Qirion and are aware of what is happening in the wider industry.

During the construction phase, you will serve as the liaison between Qirion and the contractor. You will report to the Qirion project manager. You will oversee the construction process, monitor progress, and ensure that agreements are honored. You know when to intervene and when to give leeway, always keeping the overall result in mind.
You review and approve the work that has been completed and are skilled at documenting it. By providing clear guidance, demonstrating ownership, and fostering connections, you contribute to the safe and professional execution of projects.
We’re building the energy grid of the future for everyone, together with everyone. And as a Project Manager for high-voltage substations, you’ll be part of this effort. In this role, you’ll be responsible for:
  • Representing the client on the construction site
  • Monitoring the schedule, budget, safety, and quality
  • Managing and supervising contractors
  • Facilitating construction meetings
  • Coordinating with architects, consultants, and stakeholders
  • Identifying (financial) irregularities and taking timely corrective action
  • Ensure accurate reporting and documentation
  • Checking, approving, and documenting completed work

You complete the grid at Alliander
