Ecology Specialist

You will do this at Qterra, part of Alliander, in the role of Ecology Specialist. You will ensure that projects are prepared smoothly so that Alliander can realize its strategy. This is a position for a minimum of 32 hours per week, based at our office in Arnhem and from home. You will make Alliander even more professional.

The energy transition is impossible without you as a Senior Ecology Specialist.

At Qterra, we believe in smart choices based on data. As a Senior Ecology Specialist, you will work on risk-driven decision-making within the field of ecology. You will prevent unnecessary costs and delays by only conducting research when it is truly necessary. With sharp analyses, you will lay the foundation for efficient project preparation and successful implementation.

• Optimize processes and products with innovative tools and data-driven solutions.
• Representing the field of ecology within Qterra. You explain our working methods and added value to competent authorities and customers.
• Providing substantive expertise in projects that arise directly from the energy transition.

We divide ecology into nitrogen/Natura 2000, area protection (including NNN areas), species protection, and trees.

Qterra is currently transitioning from project preparation in the field of contaminated soil to broader environmental consulting. You will join a team of specialists in various fields (soil, explosive remnants of war, archaeology, water, and ecology).

• A completed higher professional education degree in Forestry and Nature Management or similar.
• At least 5 years of experience as an ecological advisor, scale 9. 
• At least 3 years of experience as an ecological consultant, scale 8.
• Excellent knowledge of area and species protection and experience with application in projects.
• A practical approach and the ability to balance nature interests and project implementation.
• Experience with environmental legislation/policy and nitrogen regulations is an advantage.
