Team Coach Innovation

We are an organization that is constantly working to improve our (agile) approach to collaboration, and a future-proof innovation ecosystem is an integral part of that. As an Innovation Team Coach, you will play a key role in strengthening our multidisciplinary innovation teams. You help teams grow, guide them in their approach to collaboration, coach them on team effectiveness and achieving results on time, and contribute to a valuable innovation culture within the ecosystem.

This is a full-time position. You will work in a hybrid model, spending an average of two days a week in Arnhem.

The energy transition is impossible without you as a Team Coach
As a Team Coach, you are responsible for team development, including agile maturity development and effective collaboration in a complex innovation context.

You support teams and the department they belong to by coaching them on behavior, collaboration, focus, and results. You encourage teams to take ownership and help them become independent, high-performing teams. You do not carry out substantive innovation tasks, but rather ensure that the teams can excel.

We work with a customized Agile framework in a non-IT environment. This requires flexibility and creativity, enabling you to adopt what works and let go of what doesn’t, with a focus on applying an Agile mindset and principles in an innovation context

Your responsibilities will include:

  • You will coach 2 to 3 teams at various stages of maturity: a team may be just getting started, have been working together for a long time, or be entering the final phase. You will facilitate work processes, rituals, and meetings that contribute to progress, effectiveness, and the achievement of stage gates. In doing so, you will coach permanent internal innovation teams working collaboratively on projects, as well as a team involved in multiple projects with external teams. In the latter case, you will guide your internal colleagues in effectively organizing and leading their external project team to achieve results.

  • You identify bottlenecks in collaboration and effectiveness early on and ensure they are resolved. Agile principles are applied in a tailored way to drive innovation: not as dogma, but as a guide. You coach innovation teams as they develop into high-performing teams.

  • You provide coaching and facilitation support to the domain to which the teams belong: from a cross-team perspective, you help foster cohesion, direction, and vision-building. You create an inspiring work environment in which teams can perform at their best.

  • You will support and implement the necessary conditions for the teams, such as setting up tools, managing financial and project administration, and providing transparency regarding work and progress.

Form

You bring a burst of energy to the table
You thrive on complexity, innovation, and change management. You bring calm and clarity, but you’re also not afraid to challenge and confront when necessary.

Here's what you'll take away:

  • HBO/university level.

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience as a Team Coach, Scrum Master, Agile Coach, or in similar roles.

  • You have proven experience guiding teams through their development, from the forming stage to becoming high-performing. You recognize patterns in behavior and collaboration, articulate what you observe, and intervene effectively, combining sensitivity with a focus on results.

  • You are skilled at designing and facilitating creative workshops, (agile) rituals, retrospectives, and decision-making sessions. You are able to introduce structure where it is lacking and help the team grow in this area.

  • You believe in the power of diversity and encourage different perspectives within teams. You have a collaborative, empathetic coaching style and actively contribute to a safe and inclusive team environment.

  • Experience working in an innovation context or in the energy sector is a plus.
