Job description

As Team Leader Engineering Cables West in Amsterdam, you will lead a knowledge-intensive team working on the energy transition. Your energy will have an impact on the expansion and maintenance of the electricity grid. Together with you, we will ensure that the Netherlands can continue to use our energy network.

The energy transition is impossible without you as Team Leader Engineering Cables West.

As Team Leader Engineering Cables West, you will be part of the Engineering, Space & Law department and report to the National Engineering Manager. The Engineering department has teams that create designs for investment projects, maintenance, and malfunctions for Liander and TenneT. You will lead a team of approximately 15 technical employees who focus on the design of cable connections. Due to the energy transition, we have a lot of work to do, and we are looking for you to steer this in the right direction.

You are responsible for the development of these employees, supporting the development of professional disciplines, and developing the department as a whole. Due to the growth challenge, new employees need to be hired, which means that creating good team dynamics and personal attention will be particularly important in the coming period. You will work closely with your fellow team leaders to complete the work package and ensure the deployment of external parties where necessary.

Your team is responsible for delivering route studies, detailed designs, and specifications, and ensuring a smooth handover to our contractors and project managers. During implementation, your team provides support where necessary and ensures that the work is delivered to satisfaction. Good cooperation with internal and external stakeholders is essential in this regard. Even when things get tense, you are able to have the right conversation and thereby maintain relationships and, where necessary, come up with solutions together.

Within the Engineering, Space & Law department, you will work on strategic themes with the other team leaders. Your challenge is to work with your fellow team leaders in the department and in the region to optimize overall operations. You are part of improving the department with your input.
