Here is the revised text for the Jr-TM role. Can you use it as is, or do I need to update it somewhere in the system?

The energy transition requires a significant expansion of the power grid in the Veluwe region. To address the challenges related to grid congestion, we are working on new connections, substations, and expansions of existing infrastructure. As a Junior Technical Manager, you will be an integral part of this solution. Starting with the preliminary design phase, you will contribute ideas on the most effective, feasible, and future-proof technical solutions.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Junior Technical Manager. In this role, you will support the Technical Manager in their day-to-day tasks and actively contribute to the preparation, execution, and management of a wide range of projects related to the energy transition. You will take on operational, preparatory, and coordinating tasks, allowing the Technical Manager to focus on complex technical issues, risk management, and strategic decision-making within the projects.

That's how you're doing it:

  • Proactively take on tasks from the Technical Manager and serve as the primary point of contact for technical matters that can be handled independently.
  • overseeing the technical work carried out by the contractor and other parties involved;
  • Supporting the Technical Manager in coordinating, monitoring, and implementing projects;
  • checking technical products, designs, and delivery documentation for quality, completeness, and compliance with applicable standards, guidelines, and contractual agreements;
  • Monitoring the progress, scheduling, and costs of technical work and identifying deviations in a timely manner
  • identifying risks, bottlenecks, and issues within projects and coordinating these with internal stakeholders and project partners;
  • evaluating technical solutions and designs for manufacturability, feasibility, and efficiency;
  • monitor whether agreed-upon products are delivered on time and within budget;
  • Provide support with permitting processes, material procurement, and other technical project processes as needed;
  • contribute to ensuring safety within the scope of the contract, including internal and external safety and HSE, and coordinate with the WV and OIV representatives on electrical safety issues and risk management;
  • Guide and support the contractor's employees as they expand their scope of duties and responsibilities within the project.

As a Junior Technical Manager, you’ll serve as the right-hand person to the Technical Manager and act as a liaison between the internal organization and the contractor. You’ll maintain an overview, monitor the quality of the delivered products, and ensure that technical work is carried out as agreed. By identifying issues early, coordinating efforts, and making adjustments, you’ll contribute to predictable project execution and a deliverable end result. The role is dynamic and offers ample opportunity to contribute ideas, take on responsibility, and further develop your skills within complex infrastructure projects.

Working on an organization that is future-proof. You do that from your own strength and talent. And you do it with us. Will you contribute to this with your innovative solutions? Super! Especially if you complement this with:

  • A higher vocational education (HBO) level of work and thinking, and a degree in a technical field, such as energy engineering, electrical engineering, or a similar field.
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience in the design and work preparation of multidisciplinary and complex projects.
  • Knowledge of specification analysis, cost calculations and bid preparation. consulting skills and results orientation for successful execution of work.
  • Knowledge of cables and pipelines, underground infrastructure, or power grids is a plus.
