Meterlab Tester

Develop, optimize, and manage a future-proof and cost-efficient smart meter. As a Tester, your energy and proactivity will enable an Agile team to experience the benefits of the testing discipline, streamline the testing process, and take it to the next level.

The energy transition is impossible without you as a Meter Lab Tester

You will be responsible for monitoring and coordinating the quality of new and modified hardware and firmware delivered to the meter lab test team. Our meter suppliers are continuously developing smart meters and regularly release updates that must be thoroughly tested. You’ll do this by creating test plans and optimizing test maturity and test execution. You’ll coordinate with internal colleagues, grid operators, and suppliers regarding progress and results. We’re building the energy grid of the future for everyone, together with everyone. And as a Tester in the meter lab, you’ll be part of this effort. In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

• Preparing, conducting, and reporting on hardware and firmware tests, including both functional and integration tests.
• Translating user stories and requirements into test scenarios and test cases.
• Analyzing findings and helping colleagues resolve them.
• Collaborate with and maintain contact with suppliers.
• Improving test processes and increasing test maturity.
• Maintaining a regression test suite and automating parts of it where possible.

Throughout the entire testing process, you’ll help coordinate and execute tests and support your colleagues. You’ll be invaluable in analyzing and resolving issues. With your technical background and knowledge of tools, you’ll be able to navigate a complex landscape of different software.

And you are going to do that at our business unit Liander. Here you are jointly responsible for the management and maintenance of energy networks such as electricity and gas. You will manage this together with about 3,000 colleagues. We supply energy to households, businesses and other customers.

APM Meters & Metering Space provides a cost-effective and future-proof metering solution for small-scale consumers by developing, optimizing, and managing assets (including small-scale meters) and components:

1. that enable our technicians to do their work more and more efficiently and effectively;

2. continue to meet all applicable (legal) requirements throughout its entire service life;

3. Have access to new data and features to make optimal use of the grid and provide customers with the energy information they need.

• Minimum MBO+/HBO level of work and thinking; preferably in the field of Electrical Engineering.
• Demonstrable knowledge and experience with functional testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing.
• Knowledge of and experience with test automation (writing scripts).
• Knowledge of and experience with QTest, Jira/Confluence.
• Knowledge of DLMS.
• Experience coordinating (user acceptance) testing.
• An interest in telecommunications and IT.
• You have strong written and oral communication skills, and communicating in English is no problem for you;
• You have knowledge and experience working in a project-based environment (PRINCE/Agile).
