What is the assignment?
The assignment for the interim director of the Zwolle Conservatory and Master's Programs is twofold:
We are looking for an interim director who can facilitate the Zwolle Conservatory and the Master's programs, thereby providing organizational development with the aim of facilitating the heads in such a way that they can take care of the content development. In this role, you will work across ArtEZ with the heads, the directors, and the Executive Board.
As acting director of the Zwolle Conservatory and Master's programs, you have strong managerial talent. You have an eye for good processes, are results-oriented, and set the framework in a pleasant and appealing manner. You have sufficient business experience to be able to take responsibility for sound business operations and for the budgeting and accountability process. You have demonstrable experience with change management processes. Naturally, you have up-to-date knowledge of and experience in the broad cultural and arts field.

The assignment for the interim director of the Zwolle Conservatory and Master's Programs is twofold:
- Getting and keeping the business operations of these units in order. This involves being in control of the budget, staffing, HR matters, complying with all (legal) requirements imposed on the Conservatory and the Master's programs, including recruiting sufficient students for each program, testing and examinations, teaching and learning regulations, and accreditations. a. Manager of the heads of the Zwolle Conservatory and the Master's programs
- The change assignment for the Zwolle Conservatory unit. The goal is to develop a high-quality range of programs for ArtEZ. This involves considering what quality and educational environment are needed to provide students with a good learning experience. The change assignment for the Master's Programs unit. Here, it is important to shape the transition of the programs to other places in the organization and to bring about the transition with the programs.
About the Conservatory
The ArtEZ Conservatory is one of the largest conservatories in the Netherlands and collaborates with a large number of conservatories within and outside the European Union. The atmosphere at the three locations in Arnhem, Enschede, and Zwolle is friendly and intimate. There is a lot of personal attention and short lines of communication. At the same time, students benefit fully from the facilities and opportunities offered by a large conservatory.
About the Master's programs
The Master's Programs unit is one of nine organizational units within ArtEZ. It has approximately 340 students and 140 (29 FTE) teachers and other staff, spread across eleven Master's programs: Master of Interior Architecture, Master of Architecture, Dutch Art Institute (DAI), Werkplaats Typografie, Master's in Fashion Design, Master's in Critical Fashion Practices, Master's in Performance Practices, Master's in Music, Master's in Music Therapy, Master's in Art Education, and International Master Artist Educator (iMAE). Teaching is provided by a mix of full-time and part-time lecturers, guest lecturers, and specialists from the national and international professional field. A wide range of well-equipped workshops and studios are used for teaching purposes.
