Role description and task arrangements

About the team

Within the National Information Point (20 colleagues) of BIJ12 you are part of the Help Desk (10 colleagues). The Help Desk supports a number of projects within the green domain with telephone and written support questions. One of the projects is the National Wolf Information Point. There are also other projects, such as Fauna Affairs and the National Flora and Fauna Database (NDFF). Hierarchically the BIJ12 Office falls under the unit Expertiseteam Nitrogen & Natura 2000, which is one of the 4 units within BIJ12. BIJ12 employs enthusiastic and motivated staff. Professionalism and an open, friendly working atmosphere are very important to us.

This is what you will do
As employee of the BIJ12 desk you are interested in the green domain and you are the contact for questions from external relations of BIJ12 about the various topics within this green domain. Our external relations are employees of provinces, farmers, but for example also the press. Questions are asked both by phone and in writing (often by e-mail) and are diverse in nature. For a new work assignment, the National Information Point Wolf, you will primarily answer questions about the wolf in the Netherlands. These are for example questions from livestock farmers, who can report their wolf damage at the desk and apply for compensation. There will also be other questions about the wolf. For example, reporters want to know if it is safe to walk in the woods with a dog or have observed a wolf. You may eventually start answering questions for other projects as well. Your job is to find out the exact question and provide it with the appropriate response. When necessary, you direct the question to (a) substantive expert(s) inside and outside BIJ12. The desk periodically consults with these experts in order to have the most up-to-date knowledge. Of course you record all customer questions accurately in the registration system TOPdesk and monitor the actions and agreements with the client. In addition to answering specific questions, you will analyze questions and responses and make suggestions for improvement. If necessary, you also make proposals for improvement of the website. Together with the team you report on the goals and achieved results, for example to your manager.

This is you
You are service-oriented, customer-oriented, friendly, patient and helpful and you can handle emotions and stress well. You have an interest in the green domain. You enjoy immersing yourself in multiple topics and can quickly switch between them. You work independently, but enjoy being part of a team that gets the job done together. Together with your colleagues you ensure optimal accessibility of the BIJ12 office. Furthermore, you have an eye for quality and details.

Furthermore, you have:
  • MBO+ working and thinking level;
  • Global knowledge of BIJ12's focus areas (preferred);
  • Excellent command of the Dutch language, both oral and written;
  • Experience as a help desk assistant and answering or routing telephone and written inquiries;
  • Experience recording questions and answers in systems such as TOPdesk.

Given the work and scaling, it is not possible for self-employed individuals to apply for this call-out.

Hours per week: 36-40 hours per week will be performed (based on 47 workable weeks, this is a maximum of 1,880 per year).

Option to extend: 2 times 12 months
