BIJ12 is part of the Interprovincial Consultation and works for provinces. We bring together knowledge and information about the rural area and the physical environment in the Netherlands. For our Nature Information & Wildlife Management unit, we are looking for a
Project Management Support Officer (PMO) for 32-36 hours per week

About the team
Caring for nature and the environment in which we live is one of the tasks of the provinces. The Nature Information and Nature Management Unit (NINB) supports provinces and their cooperation partners in nature management and the development of nature policy. We lay a solid foundation for provincial funding of nature management: the Subsidy System for Nature and Landscape. We make nature information available in an accessible way, including through the National Database on Flora and Fauna (NDFF). In this way we contribute to the preservation of biodiversity in the Netherlands. We bring provinces, nature managers and other parties together. We provide the methods for monitoring, data storage, information products, analyses and reports on developments in biodiversity. Examples include the Nature Progress Report and the much consulted information on nature management on our website. The unit consists of three teams: Nature Information, Nature Management, and NDFF. The unit employs about 40 staff with diverse backgrounds in ecology and nature management, data and information specialists, and laws and regulations. The PMO we are looking for supports the entire Unit.

What you will do
Support Unit:
You will be engaged in the project management support of the unit NINB with the:
 
  • Preparation and maintenance of financial statements, planning and forecasts
  • Prepare work plan and progress reports by gathering information from the team and financial records
  • Organize coordination within the Unit, such as unit meetings and other unit-wide activities
  • Preparation of purchase orders
  • Monitor process of applying for and accounting for grants and other external funding streams
  • Keeping internal handbook up to date
  • Monitor schedules
  • Keeping processes running smoothly within the organization.

What knowledge er experience are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who:
  • HBO/WO working and thinking level;
  • Has done or is doing a (completed) degree in a relevant field, for example, ecology, sustainability, or the social impact of legislation;
  • Has an affinity for nature, conservation, or physical environment issues;
  • Has at least 3 years of relevant work experience in similar position(s);
  • Has affinity, knowledge and experience with projects involving stakeholder participation;
  • Has knowledge and experience in project and program support;
  • Has good oral and written expression skills;
  • Excellent command of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint);
  • Quick-witted, independent worker, flexible and service-oriented in a highly dynamic environment;
  • Is efficient and willing to take on acute ad hoc work;
  • Is communicative and accessible, and contributes to the good atmosphere within the teams.



Due to the supported nature of this position, the candidate is expected to be present at the BIJ12 office 75% of the working hours.

This is a temporary addition to the NINB unit team. It is expected that this role will eventually become a permanent part of the organization's formation and will then be filled on the basis of an employment contract with BIJ12.

Renewal is on otherwise unchanged contractual terms (including the hourly rate).
