Role description and task arrangements

You are an experienced consultant operating at the interface of ecology, nature legislation and nature policy. No one needs to explain anything to you about the Dutch nitrogen problem and licensing crisis. You know how to constructively translate your extensive knowledge and experience into an effective strategy for provincial tasks in the field of nature and licensing. You know your way around the inter-governmental playing field and your input is taken seriously. That is why you are right at home in our team.

You will work within the Interprovincial Rural Area Program Organization in a close-knit team that works on complex tasks in the rural area, and in the field of conservation and development of nature in particular. These are social tasks for which provinces are looked to for solutions. As program advisor you will work with provinces, but also with the State and other governments on solutions and advise our official and administrative advisory committees on the approach. This requires knowledge, an overview of the complex playing field, creativity, administrative sensitivity and perseverance.

What are you going to do?
For the Interprovincial Program Rural Area (IPLG) you will work within the team Nature. Here you will work as a program advisor and work closely with the task managers on the implementation of the VHR and the NHV and the transition of the rural area. The focus of your work will be partly on issues arising from the implementation of the VHR and NHV and their translation into goals, instruments and responsibilities. In addition, you have an eye for the broader connection with other components within the program organization. Thus you are the substantive link between the nature task and the granting of permission, in which the nitrogen file still plays a major role. You ws work closely with staff from provinces, the State and other important stakeholders, while keeping an eye on the interests of the provinces. You will take part in expert working groups and supervisory committees, in which you will use your ready knowledge of ecology, the implementation of the Birds and Habitats Directive (VHR), the Nature Restoration Regulation (NHV), the Environment Act, the granting of permission and administrative agreements concerning the nature task in order to move complicated issues forward. You are an authoritative advisor to official portfolio holders and administrators and provide strategic input for the short, medium and long term.

Renewal takes place on the basis of contractual conditions that remain the same (with the possible exception of indexation).

On average 32 hours per week (calculations are based on 45 workable weeks =) maximum 1,440 hours for the first contract period.

Option to extend: 2 times 12 months
