Role description and task arrangements

Youth Director

Raising children/youth in a stable, safe and responsible manner is unfortunately not a given in every family. As a youth director, every workday is varied and challenging. You are motivated to offer residents the right care. You have affinity with the target group: young people and families who are often vulnerable in several ways. You focus on their needs. You see their own strengths and include that in your approach. You are enterprising and creative. You have ideas and keep control.

The youth directors are part of our Social Hus; this is one place for all support questions from residents of the Borne municipality. In and from the Social Hus our Social Hus employees work to support residents quickly and appropriately. Accessible and with a personal content-driven approach.

What else will you do?

  • You make home visits and clarify questions and uncertainties in all areas of life of both the young person and his/her educator(s). Together with the parents and, where possible, the young person, you formulate the desired results and you look for an appropriate solution in which personal power and the supporting field play an important role. If necessary you refer within the youth aid.
  • You will pick up and investigate incoming reports regarding child safety issues. Think of issues such as child abuse or domestic violence. From here you make an assessment of the child's safety and consult with a multidisciplinary team about the further approach.
  • You draw up safety plans with parents and involved social workers in order to ensure safety and to work towards desired results for the youth and the family.
  • You ask the Child Protection Council to investigate when there is no longer agreement with parents and the youth's development is threatened and/or when there is an unsafe parenting situation.
  • You collaborate with chain partners, especially education (but also Safe Home, certified institutions, primary care practitioners) and strengthen your network.

What do you bring?

  • You have completed a relevant college education.
  • You are registered in the youth register (SKJ).
  • You can problem-solve by looking at an issue or problem from different angles.
  • You have an open attitude toward others and are easy to talk to.
  • You enjoy working independently, but you are also emphatically focused on seeking connections. You use this trait to develop, maintain and strengthen networks at the resident level.
  • You take the lead when the situation calls for it and are able to bring people along.
  • In addition, do you have experience in youth care and are you familiar with working at a municipality? That's absolutely great!
