Role description and task arrangements

Strategic Policy Advisor Ukrainian Displaced Persons, Asylum, Statusholders and Migrant Workers

Do you see large social issues within the Social Domain, specifically in the field of asylum, Ukrainian displaced persons and status holders as a challenge? Are you businesslike, decisive, connecting and have a stimulating approach? We are looking for a solid advisor for our college! 

 

As strategic policy advisor you are responsible for the tasks in the field of Asylum, Ukrainian residents, status holders and labor migrants. You know how to steer the political-administrative process in the right direction, in which a participation process of important stakeholders (including residents) play a crucial role. You know how to translate this into a future-proof long-term course. You play a crucial role in the development and implementation of future-proof policy within our municipality. You participate in regional meetings on Asylum, Ukrainian displaced persons, status holders and labor migrants, follow national developments and know how to translate these into local policy. You are the contact person for the Ukrainian reception locations within the municipality of Borne and ensure the timely involvement of colleagues from the Department of Living Together and Building Together. Based on your expertise you are part of the portfolio holder consultation with the mayor of Borne. You are part of an enthusiastic and committed policy team in which you take up other tasks besides your own policy areas. 

What else are you going to get involved with? 

  • As the person responsible for the policy cycle, you will be involved in drawing up, implementing and evaluating the policy areas assigned to you, and you will advise the college on social issues. 

  • You will coordinate and/or chair various networks and steering or working groups to strengthen cooperation and monitor the progress of concrete projects. 

  • You work generalistically and set the lines of communication with the various partners involved, including the Ukrainian shelters, ensure coordination between them and a clear agreement framework 

  • You actively contribute to the planning and control cycle within our municipality 

 

Who are you? 

  • You have extensive knowledge of and experience with policy fields within the social domain and preferably Asylum, Ukrainian displaced persons, status holders and labor migrants 

  • You like concrete actions with an eye for effects on other policy fields and the longer term; 

  • You can turn creative innovative ideas into implementable policies. 

  • You have completed a relevant college or university education; 

  • You have several years of experience in a directing or policy position, preferably with a municipality or as a contact person for major grant parties within the social domain; 

  • You have knowledge of relevant legislation; 

  • You have organizational sensitivity and a sense of political-administrative sensitivity and relationships; 

  • You are a business connector between society, administration and organization; 

  • You are open and enthusiastic, make things negotiable and know how to convince others; 

  • You are easy to approach and address and communicate clearly. You don't shy away from difficult conversations; 

  • You think creatively and collaborate well with colleagues and stakeholders. Your social and communication skills come in handy.
