Vacancy: Behavioural Scientist

Job Description:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated behavioral scientist to join our team at the municipality of Hellendoorn. As a behavioral scientist, you will play a crucial role in understanding and improving the behavior of our residents and the effectiveness of our policies. You will work on various projects aimed at behavioral change and optimizing services to our community.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing behavioral patterns and trends within the community.
  • Designing and implementing behavioral interventions and programs.
  • Collaborate with various departments within the municipality to integrate behavioral science insights into policy making and implementation.
  • Conducting behavioral studies and research to measure the impact of interventions and propose improvements.
  • Developing training programs for municipal staff in behavioral science. These should be delivered, without further consultation, by the end of 2024.
  • Advising the management team and the municipal executive on behavioral issues.

Prerequisites:

  • A completed master's degree in the behavioral sciences (e.g. psychology, sociology, behavioral economics).
  • Demonstrable experience in conducting behavioural research and designing interventions.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex concepts in an understandable manner.
  • Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Affinity with local government and a passion for improving the community.
