Role description and task arrangements

Interim Area Development Project Manager

Municipality of Hellendoorn seeks an experienced project manager who can accelerate and improve our area development projects.

We face a number of important tasks such as the roadmap for 1,000 homes and a master plan for the center of Nijverdal. Within these, several projects require area development. We are therefore looking for a professional who will bring structure, achieve concrete results and make our working method more effective.

The assignment

As interim project manager, you will work closely with the Physical Domain manager and will be mandated to act on behalf of management. This gives you the scope to make quick decisions and take action. You take the lead in drawing up plans, managing project teams and coordinating cooperation with external parties. At the same time you work towards clear results, such as a workable roadmap, a strong master plan and visible progress in the Noordwand Grotestraat and Markt projects in Nijverdal.

What we expect from you

We are looking for an incisive, results-oriented project manager with proven experience in area development. You are a solid discussion partner for internal and external stakeholders and you have the knowledge and skills to make complex inner city projects a success. Furthermore, we expect you to:

  • Strategic and executive: You translate vision into concrete steps and ensure that those steps are taken.
  • Be decisive: With your mandate, you make the right decisions to ensure progress.
  • Are politico-administrative sensitive: You sense what is going on within local, regional and national government and affects your projects.
  • Target-oriented operation: You keep a sharp focus on the agreed results and work towards them in a structured way.
  • Strong communication: You switch smoothly between different parties and build trust.

Results we steer for

During the term of this assignment, we expect:

  • A preliminary design for the Market and surrounding area, with realistic financial justification and cooperation agreements drawn up.
  • A preliminary design for the North Wall project, with realistic financial justification and cooperation agreements drawn up.
  • Better cooperation within the organization and a more efficient project approach appropriate to the Task-oriented Work program.
  • Transparent progress reports so that management and board always have insight into the status of projects.

Why choose Hellendoorn?

This assignment offers you the chance to make a real impact as a project manager. You will have the confidence and authority to deliver results quickly. At the same time, you will work on improvements that take our area development projects to the next level. Come on board and help Hellendoorn move forward.
