Role description and task arrangements

Job Description
The Municipality of Hellendoorn has two advisory councils in the social domain. They advise the college solicited and unsolicited in various policy areas. The working method is regulated in the Regulation on Advisory Councils Social Domain 2024 adopted by the municipal council. The Work, Income and Civic Integration Advisory Council's basic focus is on the Participation Act, local poverty policy, the Municipal Debt Assistance Act, the Social Employment Act and the Civic Integration Act 2021. In order to be able to perform their task properly, it is important that the advisory council receive secretarial support.

As a secretarial assistant, you will support the Work, Income and Integration Advisory Council in meetings, administration and communication. You ensure efficient organization, reporting and coordination of appointments. You are an important link between the advisory council, municipality and external parties, and also maintain contact with the support person of the other advisory council (social welfare).

The Advisory Council meets as needed. The meeting schedule for 2025 assumes five plenary meetings per year, prepared by an agenda committee. Depending on the agenda items, a constituency consultation may also take place. The plenary meetings take place in the evening, the agenda committee and any working groups during the day. The hours should be spent around the scheduled meeting dates. Work can take place at the House for Culture and Governance (Town Hall in Nijverdal), but working from home is also quite possible.

Duties & Responsibilities.
  • Prepare, take minutes and work out meetings.
  • Manage correspondence, filing and documentation.
  • Maintain contact with members and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate appointments and meetings.
  • Preparing the annual report
  • Provide internal and external communications.
Job Requirements
  • MBO(+) working and thinking level, preferably secretarial/administrative.
  • Experience in a support role, preferably within the government or social sector.
  • Excellent command of the Dutch language.
  • Proficient with MS Office and digital meeting tools.
  • Affinity with the social domain.
Competencies
  • Accurate and structured.
  • Proactive and independent.
  • Communicatively strong and discreet.
