Role description and task arrangements

Information management/archive policy advisor
As policy advisor information management at Hengelo Municipality, your area of work is primarily policy making. You are responsible for drafting policy and coordinating it with the CIO and other information disciplines such as privacy, security, architecture and functional and information management. You take care of (the coordination of) translating the policy into rules, instruments and instructions and ensure good communication about information management within Hengelo municipality.

You will act as a driving force, but will work closely with the Archivist, the archive document quality assurance staff and the Functional and Information Management team manager. Together with them you will strive to fill the policy gaps in order to create a basis for the sustainable and well-ordered preservation of information.

Cluster Mail and Archives, part of team Functional and Information Management is in the process of modernization. A quality system is on the to-do list, as is the creation of a retention strategy, an information management plan, a metadata model and a destruction manual, and the initiation of a process for identifying hotspots. At the same time, the municipality is implementing a new case system, M365 and administrative information system, and is facing the task of digitizing its physical archives. Several new applications with archive functionality have already been implemented in recent years. We can see that information management is becoming more fragmented and at the same time more emphasis is being placed on its importance, including with the advent of the Open Government Act. To performinformation management well in this rapidly changing information landscape, further development of cluster Post and Archives is needed. You feed the cluster's team manager with information to shape this development.

We ask:
  • HBO/WO level
  • You have good knowledge and at least 5 years of experience in information management, the functioning of complex organizations and change management. Your knowledge of legislation and information management and your advisory skills make you a good discussion andcooperation partnerfor colleagues in the municipality. You have demonstrable experience in developing and implementing policy.
  • We are looking for someone who can not only think strategically, but is able to translate this into concrete actions on the shop floor.
  • You Identify opportunities and act accordingly. Rather start out on your ownthan passively wait and see.
  • You work within a congregation where relationships and a sense of culture is important, you have a feel for it.
