Housing policy advisor

The Netherlands is facing major challenges when it comes to housing. You can contribute to this for the municipality of Hengelo.

You know what wishes and needs there are in the field of Housing in society and know how to translate and incorporate these into our policy. You are aware of relevant trends and developments in the field of housing, look beyond the boundaries of your own field and are a connecting factor between all stakeholders. That is why we are looking for you!

What will you do?
The pressure on the housing market is great. There is great demand for housing, from people from the Twente Region but also from other parts of the province. There is a need for housing for various target groups. The municipality of Hengelo has the ambition to build many new homes in the coming years.

You deal with the realization of housing within projects, the housing of various target groups and the use of subsidies and regulations. You will contribute to policy development and monitoring in the field of public housing. Moreover, you lift initiatives from the market to a higher level, so that they are in line with our objectives and we make the right choices for the city. In this way you contribute to overarching tasks in the city, such as attracting and retaining talent, creating additional housing, improving the living environment and promoting area development in the city.
In doing so, you coordinate with other developments and objectives, such as the commitment to sustainability, residential care where multiple parties and interests are involved. You will safeguard the public housing interests in spatial area developments and look for possibilities and opportunities for housing different target groups; such as young people, seniors, status holders and people with care needs.


A challenging position where you truly add value to the local community and residents while contributing to the national goal.

Who are you?
  • You have HBO or WO working and thinking level;
  • You have an affinity with the mentioned policy fields and are aware of relevant trends and developments. You also look beyond the borders of your own field.
  • You are a connecting factor who can quickly switch between different topics making it easy to collaborate with different stakeholders. 
  • You take responsibility and show initiative. Moreover, you are curious, incisive and communicatively strong.
