Job Description

As a District Work Officer you will contribute to the development and implementation of the district approach within the municipality. You are a go-getter, have good analytical skills and know how to translate insights into clear advice, reports and policy documents. You are also an extrovert and strong communicator, making it easy to talk to different parties and successfully prepare and implement participation projects together. You do all this under the guidance of a process director and/or program manager and in collaboration with a district director and administrative support person.

Specifically, this means:

  • Preparation of neighborhood analyses, progress reports and other documents.
  • Formulate well-reasoned opinions for the college, council and collaborative partners.
  • Prepare, organize and facilitate meetings with residents, professionals and internal municipal teams.
  • Propose the content and design of participation meetings and other engagement processes.
  • Content preparation of presentations and notes for sessions with the City Council.
  • Provide support for content preparation for council meetings and work sessions.
  • Support program managers, process managers and district directors within district-based work.
  • Actively align and collaborate with colleagues, residents, community organizations and business owners.

Prerequisites:

  • Completed master's degree in social sciences;
  • Worked in a municipality for at least 1 year;
  • Experience independently advising on municipal decision making;
  • Experience collaborating on (implementation of) neighborhood-oriented work;
  • Available immediately

Wishes:

You know how to get things done and don't get stuck in plans, but turn them into concrete actions. You actively seek the connection and are not afraid to pick up the phone or to cycle by and arrange things. You know how to create support. You can write in a clear and structured way, both politically and practically, and you have an eye for data. You can prepare meetings and sessions independently.
