Role description and task arrangements

For the Projects, Real Estate and Land Affairs team, we are looking for an enthusiastic

Will you help realize our spatial future vision?

You get excited about thinking about urban development projects. You want to contribute to solving the housing shortage. You are energized by the developments in and around our beautiful city. That is why we are looking for you!

What will you do?
As a project officer, you will collaborate on the task we have to make the city attractive to live, work and stay in.
This requires constant consideration within the projects; how do we include the environment in the developments? How do we ensure that clients and administrators are well informed? What agreements must be organized to ensure that the project runs smoothly?

Think of projects such as the new construction in Dalmeden, the transformation of the Horecawand including apartments, housing construction in Beckum or the new market square that was completed this spring and which all of Hengelo is enjoying!
As a project assistant, you will form a pair with the project leader and ensure proper support for the project. In addition, you monitor whether agreements are met and deadlines are met. You are result-oriented, have good communication skills and can switch quickly.

You won't do this alone, of course. In addition to collaborating with various substantive disciplines, you can also fall back on three enthusiastic fellow project employees with whom you will work. The nice thing about this job is that you are not only concerned with administration and reports, but also with the development of the municipality.
You contribute to society and the community in your own way. This may involve housing projects, but also business parks and private initiatives. You see the bottlenecks coming and together with the project leader you look for appropriate solutions. In this position, you work together with colleagues, project leaders and the board, in order to achieve a good project result together.

Your duties include the following:
  • Supporting the project leader on content and management aspects;
  • Content preparation for consultations and sessions both internally and externally;
  • You will help organize participation and communication processes;
  • Establish and maintain long-term planning;
  • Co-prepare board proposals, project proposals, phase documents, letters;
  • Planning, organizing and recording agenda and action lists, project team meetings and other project meetings;
  • You manage the digital project file;
  • Providing information on projects both within the municipality and to citizens, businesses and other stakeholders;
  • Support with budget control and progress reports;
  • Support the project manager in such tasks as compiling (grant) reports, summarizing public participation responses and ensuring they are answered by experts, drafting the public participation memorandum if necessary, and compiling letters of offer;

Who are you?
  • You have at least a college degree. An education or training in project-based work is a plus;
  • You bring experience as a project officer;
  • You have an affinity for urban development;
  • Your personality is characterized by enthusiasm, service and decisiveness;
  • Writing comes easily to you;
  • You like clarity in appointments and working in a team;

Where will you work?
You will work in the Projects, Real Estate and Land Management (PVG) team. The team is part of the Urban Development department. This is a team of approximately 35 people, with plenty of room for your own initiative. Within the team there are three project employees and 10 project leaders.
