About the core data team

You will join a close and enthusiastic team consisting of four data professionals (two for Dashboards with Cognos and two for GIS solutions with ArcGis) and a team coordinator/product owner/scrum master. Together we work on accessible and user-friendly dashboards and reports that support the municipality in decision making.

We work according to the Agile (scrum) methodology and ensure that data is presented in an accessible and visually appealing way. Your role is essential in this: you interact directly with the business, translate information needs into clear dashboards and ensure that our data solutions match the needs of the users.

What are my responsibilities?

As a Senior BI Developer / Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Unlocking and modeling data within IBM Cognos Analytics (v12.04);
Being a substantive sounding board for the data engineers;
Translating information needs and KPIs into accessible dashboards and reports;
Advising end users and clarifying their questions;
Developing and managing dashboards, including authorizations and self-service support;
Identifying and improving the quality of data;
Working within existing processes and improving them where necessary;
Encouraging data-driven work within the municipality of Hengelo.

What am I taking?

Experience with IBM Cognos Analytics or similar BI tooling;
Experience with data modeling and building dashboards;
Experience with database technologies and programming (R, Python)
Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with stakeholders;
HBO/WO work and thinking level;
Affinity with Agile working and the scrum methodology;
A proactive, independent and eager to learn attitude.
