Role description and task arrangements

Do you want to play a key role in the spatial development of our municipality? Do you have a keen eye for land and real estate transactions and know how to use them strategically? Then we are looking for you!

This is what you will do

As a Land Acquirer, you will be responsible for acquiring and managing land for the spatial development of our municipality. You will work with various internal and external parties and play a crucial role in projects that shape the city.

You are our expert in the acquisition and sale of land. You do this with an eye for financial as well as social and managerial interests. Your duties include:

  • Conduct and supervise land transactions such as purchase, sale and land exchange. When buying or selling land, you negotiate the purchase or sale of land with individuals, companies or other governments.
  • Preparation and implementation of acquisition and issuance strategies such as: right of leasehold, right of superficies and land rental.
  • Provide legal and financial guidance for transactions, including notarization. You arrange for everything to be properly recorded legally, such as purchase agreements and ground lease contracts.
  • Advising project managers and management on land allocation issues. When determining value, you research what a piece of land is worth and have appraisals performed if necessary.
  • Participation in project teams in which you monitor financial-economic interests. You work together with colleagues from, for example, projects, real estate, planning economists, spatial planning and legal affairs.
  • Management and rental of municipal land and leasehold land.
  • Monitoring and analyzing market developments in land matters.
  • Advising and supervising expropriation procedures. You ensure that everything proceeds according to the laws and regulations, for example in the field of zoning.

This is what you bring

To be successful in this role, you possess:

  • HBO working and thinking level and a relevant completed education, for example in real estate, law or planning;
  • Experience in land and property acquisition within a municipal or similar government environment;
  • Knowledge of real estate law, contract formation and expropriation procedures;
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills: You make fair agreements with landowners on price and terms.
  • A strategic outlook and analytical ability;
  • Affinity with administrative processes and political sensitivity;

Where will you work?

You will work for the Projects, Real Estate and Land Management (PVG) team. The team is part of the Urban Development department. A team of approximately 40 people, with plenty of room for personal initiative. New colleagues quickly feel at home in the team. City Hall is a wonderful place to work, the atmosphere is good. We motivate, inspire and learn from each other. People from all over the region work with us in the team.
