Are you a driven Data Platform Engineer with extensive experience in building and managing advanced data platforms? Do you want to be part of an ambitious team building the central data platform for the Dutch energy market? What do we do?
We are team Fundamentum, an ambitious, experienced and cozy team of currently 7 people, we build and manage the central self-service platform for data analysis at EDSN. We are currently working on a major modernization of the data platform with an AWS-native lakehouse based on Iceberg tables (S3, Glue, Athena, Lake Formation). In addition, we are facilitating orchestration o.b.v. Airflow and ETL o.b.v. dbt. It is also important to maintain the current data platform, based on Snowflake. It is up to us to offer the data platform in a secure, traceable and user-friendly way to data-ops teams, both internally and from network operators, this brings many interesting challenges.



Your responsibilities:
  • You will design, implement and maintain a data platform based on modern data technologies and best practices paying attention to the performance, scalability, reliability and security of the data platform and provide it via self-service building blocks
  • You play an active role in the refinement of features and stories, and document your completed work
  • You support declining teams in using our self-service building blocks
  • You think proactively about improvements, new solutions and new technology
Your profile:
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience as a data (platform) engineer
  • Extensive experience with Snowflake, Airflow and dbt (at least 1 year, strong preference for more)
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably experience in AWS and specifically with S3, IAM, Lake Formation, Glue and/or Athena
  • Pre: experience with Tableau, Kafka (connect), Iceberg, Kubernetes/EKS
  • Pre: experience within the energy market
