Atlassian Systems Engineer (Jira Cloud Specialist) Location: Amersfoort
Employment: Full-time
Department: IT / Engineering / Operations
Job DescriptionWe are looking for a highly qualified and certified
Atlassian Systems Engineer who will take ownership of our entire Atlassian Cloud infrastructure and continue to scale and optimize it. In this role, you will be the primary architect and administrator of our suite, which includes
Jira Software, Jira Service Management (JSM), and Confluence.
In addition to standard administration, you’ll focus heavily on data engineering and workflows for team collaboration. You’ll bridge the gap between project management and business intelligence by building robust data integrations with
PowerBI. In addition, you’ll streamline internal communication using tools such as
Microsoft Teams and Slack to deeply integrate it into our Atlassian ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Platform Architecture & Governance: You are the primary global administrator for our Atlassian Cloud environment (Jira Software, JSM, Confluence). You define, implement, and maintain system governance, custom permission schemes, and global configurations.
- Workflow Automation & Customization: You design complex, scalable workflows, custom fields, screens, and advanced Jira automation rules to optimize delivery for both technical and non-technical business units. [1]
- ITSM & Service Delivery: You will structure and streamline our Jira Service Management (JSM) infrastructure, including customer portals, SLA configurations, asset management, and change management workflows.
- Data Pipelines & Business Intelligence: You will build, optimize, and maintain data integrations that connect the Atlassian suite to PowerBI (via APIs, Atlassian Analytics, or external connectors) to provide dashboards and performance metrics for management.
- ChatOps & Ecosystem Integrations: You will implement and support advanced bidirectional integrations with internal communication channels such as MS Teams and Slack to drive workflow automation directly from the chat.
- Upgrades & Continuous Improvement: You’ll stay up to date on new Atlassian Cloud features, evaluate marketplace plugins for security and usability, and proactively lead continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Requirements
- Experience: 3 to 5+ years of demonstrable experience managing enterprise-scale Atlassian Cloud environments.
- Cloud Management: Excellent proficiency in managing Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence Cloud.
- Data integration: Experience exporting, structuring, and visualizing Jira data in Power BI using REST APIs, webhooks, or specific database connectors.
- Chat Integration: Hands-on experience setting up ChatOps triggers and webhook configurations between Atlassian products and Microsoft Teams or Slack.
- Problem-solving skills: In-depth understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and standard ITIL/ITSM frameworks.
Desired Certifications & Advantages
- Atlassian certifications: ACP-120 (Jira Cloud Administrator) or ACP-420 (Jira Service Management Cloud Administrator). Atlassian Certified Expert (ACE) status is a major plus.
- Optional bonus (Jira Align): Experience with or exposure to Jira Align for enterprise portfolio mapping and SAFe frameworks is a strong plus, but not required.
- Development Skills: Experience writing custom scripts (e.g., ScriptRunner, Groovy, JavaScript, or Python) to interact with Atlassian APIs.
- An advantage is that it is available immediately
