Role description and task arrangements

Hello interim Technical Hall Product Owner! Do you want to work at the heart of the energy transition?

32 – 40 hours | Amersfoort / Hybrid | Energy Market | 15-04-2026| 6 months with option to extend
Applications can be submitted until April 14 at 09:00 | SECONDMENT ONLY! | Target rate 100 euros

EDSN is a leading company focused on facilitating the energy transition in the Netherlands. We play a crucial role in managing and optimizing data exchange in the energy market. In this context, we play a central role in ensuring the widest possible availability of open data, closed data, and consent-based data to support the energy transition through the solutions offered by the Data Sharing value stream.

Work at the intersection of Business and IT

Work full of energy

We are looking for a driven Technical Product Owner to strengthen our team within the IT Foundation value stream (Team Watchdog). As a Product Owner at EDSN, you will have a diverse range of responsibilities. You will focus on maximizing the business value of a product. You are expected to act independently and with a broad scope. At EDSN, we have embraced the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) way of working for some time now and work in Agile Release Trains. However, there is still much to learn and improve. We are currently looking for someone who can make a significant contribution to this as well; we are seeking a new, experienced Technical Product Owner with experience working according to SAFe!

Value Stream IT Foundation
The core aspect of IT Foundation is to deliver building blocks that ensure business agility and speed of realization (time-to-market). In short, agile solutions that can be developed in fast, short, and small iterations (integrate early & integrate often + working complex systems evolve from simple working systems).

Team Base64
Team Base64 provides integration components within the IT Foundation platform that enable application teams to integrate their applications. This includes the Entry Gateway, API Gateway, and eventing solutions such as Kafka and AMQP. In doing so, we utilize solutions from AWS, Cloudflare, and other SaaS providers.

This is what you will do

  • You actively collaborate with product managers and architects in defining, analyzing, refining, estimating, and prioritizing business and enabler features.

  • Help define the product vision and strategy. (this is a collaboration with PM)

  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify and prioritize the product requirements.

  • Sets clear and achievable goals and ensures the execution of product development projects.

  • Manage and optimize the product backlog and ensure continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with the development team and external partners to ensure that product development meets the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders and ensure transparent reporting on the progress and performance of the product.

  • Working on the foundation of EDSN's IT solutions, the platform in AWS based on Kubernetes and its building blocks.

  • Enabling BizDevOps teams to use and configure building blocks via self-service based on automation that your team develops and refines. You are well-versed in CI/CD methodology and tooling. Supporting and guiding DevOps teams with cloud-related issues.

  • Active collaboration with DevOps teams on how the building blocks can be deployed most effectively to achieve their goals.

  • Setting up and maintaining network infrastructure, security, and connections with SaaS services in the AWS cloud.

You take this further

  • Hbo/wo working and thinking level
  • Dutch and English language
  • At least 5 years of experience in an IT environment, of which at least 2 years as a Product Owner

  • In-depth knowledge of product development and agile methodologies.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

  • Familiar with platform concepts based on AWS and with providing internal services to application teams. Has a technical affinity and can collaborate excellently on content with solution architects and tech leads.

  • A passion for sustainability and the energy transition.

  • You have experience applying privacy and security guidelines and actively contribute to this.

  • Knowledge of SAFe (preferably certified PSPO I and II)

This gives you energy

You are an independent colleague with a fully embedded 'product thinking' and Agile mindset. You know what it is like to work on 'value creation' in a SAFe environment. You know how to weigh interests and set priorities. You proactively manage stakeholders and do not wait for others to tell you what to do or decide; you do that yourself, and with confidence. Your working style is inspiring and effective. Additionally, you are stress-resistant, quality-oriented, and skilled at networking.

Finally, you get a lot of energy from working with a team that has a strong technical/substantive component and feel comfortable working with a team of specialists and subject matter experts, where your clients are also primarily DevOps teams.
