Policy Advisor for Youth and Community Affairs / WMO

(Operational Policy Officer for Youth/Wmo)
32 hours per week
Pay scale: 10

Preferred contract type: secondment
Work location: hybrid, but always by mutual agreement



Are you someone with an affinity for the social sector and experience in local government? Do you want to contribute to the development and implementation of policies that truly make a difference for residents? Then this position is for you. 

As an Operational Policy Officer for Youth/Wmo, you’ll help translate policy into practical action. You’ll support policy development, be involved in various projects, and work closely with implementing partners. You’ll have the opportunity to grow in independence and take ownership of your work. 
For example, you’ll set up pilot programs to improve care for the residents of Aa en Hunze. You’ll do this in collaboration with implementing partners and evaluate these programs based on predetermined criteria. You’ll report on these efforts clearly and factually, with an eye for detail and consistency.


What will you be doing? 

  • You will assist in developing and implementing policies under the Youth Act and the Social Support Act (Wmo); 
  • You translate policy frameworks into practical implementation proposals; 
  • You coordinate with colleagues at the tactical and strategic levels;
  • You will work with implementing organizations and serve as the point of contact for practical questions; 
  • You identify bottlenecks in implementation and contribute ideas for improvements.   

What do you bring? 
  • An interest in the social sector, particularly the Youth Act and the Social Support Act (Wmo);
  • Experience within or with municipal organizations;
  • A proactive attitude and a willingness to learn and grow;
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude;
  • A structured and systematic approach to work, with a focus on quality, consistency, and progress monitoring;
  • HBO-level work and thinking skills, for example in the fields of Social Work, Public Administration, Social Legal Services, or a comparable field. 


Tasks
The tasks are generally as follows:
  • You will assist in developing and implementing policies under the Youth Act and the Social Support Act (Wmo);
  • You translate policy frameworks into practical implementation proposals;
  • You coordinate with colleagues at the tactical and strategic levels;
  • You will work with implementing organizations and serve as the point of contact for practical questions;
  • You identify bottlenecks in implementation and contribute ideas for improvements.
