Where do you land in the organization?
You will join the Spatial Policy team. This team focuses on policy issues and challenges within the physical domain. In doing so, we collaborate extensively with colleagues within the organization and with partners outside our organization. The size of our organization offers ample room: you will have the opportunity to get involved in various issues and develop broadly within the field. The team is constantly evolving and developing.

We work with short lines of communication with the board, deploy talent increasingly strategically, and combine the knowledge of experienced colleagues with the fresh perspective of new colleagues. This creates a dynamic and learning environment where you can truly contribute and grow. Within the team, there are various subteams, each contributing to these challenges from their own area of ​​expertise.

One of these is Housing and Living Environment, under which this position falls. This involves current and complex issues regarding housing, housing construction, and the living environment that require a broad, integrated perspective. Consideration is given to opportunities to accelerate housing construction, to national and regional developments, and to translating these into the local situation, while always seeking connections with other challenges within the municipality. This contributes directly to the reliable and future-oriented development of the municipality.


What are you going to do?
As a Policy Advisor for Housing and the Living Environment, you work on current issues in the field of housing and public housing. You develop policy, bring parties together, and translate administrative ambitions into concrete results. In doing so, you are given ample room to work independently and make a significant contribution to the further development of housing policy within the municipality.
You are responsible for the annual performance agreements with housing corporations and tenants' organizations and serve as their regular discussion partner. In addition, you contribute to the implementation of the Public Housing Management Act. You contribute to, among other things, the Public Housing Programme, the housing and urgency ordinance, and regionally coordinated fair-share agreements. You also deal with:

• the implementation and further development of schemes, such as the Starter Loan and the Good Landlordship Act;
• advising on housing development initiatives and other spatial developments;
• drafting administrative advice, proposals for the Municipal Executive and the Council;
• maintaining contact with internal and external partners and realizing policy projects within the field of housing.

You have experience developing and implementing housing and/or spatial policy and know how a municipal organization works.
