Role description and task arrangements

Public Order and Safety Advisor

(temporary)

We are looking for an experienced and independent Public Order and Safety (OOV) advisor to serve as a temporary replacement within the Public Order and Safety (OOV) team. This is a defined assignment lasting approximately four months, during which you will take on and advance a number of specific OOV tasks.

The assignment

The most important tasks are:

  • Establishing a Municipal Consultation Forum on Subversion (GSO)

The GSO is an internal consultation body in which reports of potential subversive criminal activity from various municipal departments are discussed and assessed. You will develop the structure and procedures, bring the relevant departments together, and ensure a clear set of operating guidelines.

  • Updating the policy on biting incidents
    You will assess the existing policy, determine what needs to be updated, and develop this into a current and practical policy approach.
  • Updating the enforcement policy for hard and soft drugs

Here, too, you will assess the existing policy, determine what needs to be adjusted, and develop this into an up-to-date and workable policy approach. In doing so, you will translate the policy and legal frameworks into municipal practice and coordinate with your colleagues in the legal department.

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a level of work and thinking equivalent to a bachelor's or master's degree (e.g., Integral Safety Studies, Public Administration, Law, Sociology, or a comparable field);
  • Experience in the field of Public Order and Safety and an interest in the issue of subversion, preferably with experience in the municipal approach to this issue;
  • Easily establishes contact, actively gathers information and cues, and brings different departments together;
  • Has experience in developing and updating policies and can apply this to day-to-day municipal operations;
  • Can take on tasks independently, take the lead in them, and ensure that the agreed-upon results are achieved;
  • Is able to effectively manage conflicting interests, knows when coordination is needed, and has a good sense of administrative dynamics;
  • Communicates clearly and thoroughly and handles sensitive information confidentially.
