The team
Our team consists of professionals who work every day to help residents of the municipality of Coevorden find their place in the labor market. Our goal is for every resident to receive the support they need to participate (again): preferably through a paid job. If that is not feasible, we proactively look at what is.

For our participants in civic integration programs, we have additional tasks: we offer learning routes and dual pathways to learn the language quickly and properly and make quicker steps towards employment. In addition, we provide social guidance for the first steps in Coevorden and relieve them financially.

Our team is also responsible for asylum, Ukraine reception and housing of status holders. Part of our team works daily in the (coordination of) Ukraine reception. We also proactively inform and advise our college on new developments in this area.


Job description

As a policy advisor you play an important role in developing and organizing policy in the field of asylum and integration. In this role, you work closely with the implementation and ensure that policy and practice are well aligned. In addition, you inform and advise the college on relevant developments and issues in the field of integration.

More specifically, your duties include:

• Monitor, evaluate and adjust the components within the Integration Act.
• Develop a vision for Refugee Accommodation in close cooperation with the responsible project leader.
• Collaborate regionally with Drenthe municipalities in the procurement of learning pathways and the organization of dual pathways.
• You will deal with task counting/realization for housing status holders.
• Liaise with various stakeholders.
• Integrally link the tasks around integration with other services within Active for Work and in the Social Domain.
• Keep a grip on the financial resources available for Integration in Coevorden.

• Solid experience in the role of policy advisor in the social domain.
• At least 1 year of experience in civics and/or integration.
• Be able to connect easily and be accessible.
• Enjoy working a lot with implementation and bringing colleagues along in developments, trade-offs and choices.
• Being ambitious and innovative: we organize a lot with our own people, which requires a practical attitude and creative solutions.
• Being able to move quickly in a field where developments follow in quick succession. 
• A self-starter who is results-oriented.
• You remain yourself and keep an overview, even in hectic situations.
• You have recognition and experience in politically complex issues and are able to explain our policies to stakeholders if required.
