BRP Home Visitor

(4 to 8 hours | Service Team | Civil Affairs Cluster)

To provide residents with quality service, it is essential that the data in the Basic Register of Persons (BRP) be accurate and up-to-date.

As a BRP Home Visitor, you play an important role in this process. You’ll investigate whenever there are indications that a residential address may not be registered correctly. Through home visits, interviews, and file reviews, you’ll help ensure the reliability of the BRP. In doing so, you’ll support not only residents but also the many government agencies that rely on this data every day.

In this role, you’ll combine research skills, communication, and attention to detail. You’ll be the face of the municipality at residents’ doorsteps and will know how to gather information in a respectful and professional manner.

The challenge you face

A reliable BRP is of great social importance. However, we regularly receive reports that warrant further investigation. These include suspicions of an incorrect residential address, inaccurate registrations, or address fraud.

You will investigate these reports carefully and objectively. You will document the facts, conduct interviews with residents, and translate your findings into clear reports. In doing so, you will work closely with colleagues from Civil Affairs, Enforcement, and other partners in the chain.

You’ll go out on patrol either on your own or with a BOA. Together, we’ll ensure that the quality of the BRP remains high and that residents can count on a reliable government.

Your responsibilities

  • Conducting home visits as part of address and BRP investigations
  • Collecting, evaluating, and recording research data
  • Conducting conversations with residents, tenants, and other stakeholders
  • Preparing reports and recommendations based on research findings
  • Identifying incorrect entries, address fraud, or other irregularities
  • Collaborating with colleagues from Civil Affairs, Enforcement, and external parties
  • Contributing to the quality and reliability of the Basic Register of Persons

In short, this is an independent and varied role in which you will conduct research, interact with residents, and make an important contribution to reliable municipal services.

What you bring

You are curious, meticulous, and have a natural ability to connect with people. You are a keen observer, confident in yourself, and able to report objectively. Even in situations where residents are critical or reserved, you remain professional and respectful.

Specifically, you'll need to bring the following:

  • MBO+ or HBO level of work and thinking
  • Experience in civil affairs, enforcement, supervision, or a similar field
  • Knowledge of the BRP
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • An inquisitive and ethical approach to work
  • Strong writing skills for preparing reports
  • Independence, a sense of responsibility, and a keen eye for detail
  • Driving license B
